It's been a long while since I posted! Work got pretty crazy the last couple of months, but it's finally nearing the end of the project and I'll have more time to draw now!
I've been stealing bits and pieces of time here and there to work on Mama's Jewels, and I'm proud to announce that the script for Arc Two is complete! It took me a good while to work out the plot and the new characters, particularly the antagonists, as I didn't have a solid idea as to who Rea would be going against in the Pit. Random monsters just didn't do enough for the suspense.
But that's all been worked out, and now I can work on laying out the panels and drafting! I've already got a good idea board going on Pinterest for the various environments and creatures Rea will encounter. As well, I've completed character design sheets for the three protagonists, which I will be sharing in the next few weeks!
Here is the design for Rea in this new arc! Her outfit is slightly more tattered as she has been travelling through a wasteland, but it also makes her look more badass! We will really see our girl's determination and strength in this arc, but the softer, kinder side of her will remain.
Let me know what y'all think about her design and what you look forward to seeing in Arc Two!
Born in a frigid world where the Sun never shines, thirteen-year-old Rea grows up watching her mama create intricate glass jewels, and is fascinated by the ancient legends these jewels portray. Life seems simple—until a troop of soldiers raids her home and arrests her mama. Determined to save her only family, Rea recreates jewels for a lieutenant in exchange for her mama's freedom. But she soon uncovers secrets about her own origins—secrets that threaten to erase her from the world she knows.
