The wisdom of old age is a curse and a blessing. So many things I would do again, for pleasure or for redemption, If I could turn a dial and go back, the first thing I would do is go back to the summer day when my mom, dad, older sister and I all sat at my mom's kitchen table and made decisions.
My older sister agreed to move to our dad's solely because she had a boyfriend that lived near him.
Me, on the other hand... I don't know why I said yes. This would be the thing I'd change, I'd say no, stay with my mom, my friends, my youngest sister.
I'd say no, and my mom's face wouldn't fall into that sad expression I saw that day. My dad's expression wouldn't have looked so happy.
I'd say no, and I wouldn't get so scared of loud noises. I wouldn't have so much anxiety about new things coming into my life.
I'd say no, and I would've had a better plan for what I'm doing after school. I wouldn't be struggling to gain weight. I wouldn't be struggling to keep my head above the water, that being depression. I wouldn't still be healing from self-harm scars.
If I'd said no, my life wouldn't have gotten so hard, so early, so fast.
Alrighty, this one is a personal rant, honestly. Sorry about that. But it's all I could write when I read the prompt... Hope you enjoyed, or rather, related to any of this. Tell me in the comments what you'd go back and change if you could!
