“Ah Fuck, I’m boredddd,” the king named Elias whined. He didn’t direct his words for no one, but he still hoped his butler heard his cry hoping he will do something about his boredom. His butler, Charlie did hear his cry. In fact, he has been hearing Elias’s whine for the past 2 hours and if he had to endure this for another minute, he would lose his mind. “Your majesty, like I told you 10 minutes ago, you cannot leave your throne unless there’s an emergency. You need to sit there and wait for the guests that will arrive in an hour.” Elias looked at him with a deep frown not wanting to sit down for another minute. “Ugh fine since I can’t leave my place, I might as well walk around my throne, my ass hurts, I’m about to be assless from sitting for so long.” He got up from his seat, pushing himself up from his arm rests almost making his crown fall from how fast he got up. Charlie heaved a big sigh, disappointed from his use of language. Although he was displeased by how Elias acts, he can’t bring himself to hate him.
He has worked for the royal family ever since he was 10. Elias’s father took him in when he went on a trip where he found Charlie abandoned on the side of the road shivering in the Northern Mountains. Elias’s father was a good man, he always showed compassion and always wanted the best for his people. He treated Charlie like his son, teaching him how to read, write, cook, and how to shoot an arrow. At the age of 18, the king and the queen had Elias, their first born. But before the queen could see her baby she sadly passed from complications while delivering. The king loved his wife so dearly, so much so that if he could he would rather lock himself in the room with a picture of his wife and just admire it until his eyes were stuck in place. The death of his wife ruined him, it was as if someone were to rip out his heart and make him watch it while the heart slowing lost its beat. He couldn’t handle the pain, it wasn’t bearable, so he committed suicide by jumping off the bridge where they met. Newborn Elias was left alone with no parent to look after him, Charlie realized this and made a promise to himself and to the late queen and king. He promised to raise the baby into a strong and independent man just how the deceased king wanted him to grow into.
It’s been 27 years since then and honestly Charlie regrets not being stricter with him. He whines like a baby and is not the greatest of kings out there, but he wonders if something was hurting him inside. Charlie saw a mix of emotions, he could see sadness, hatred, and fear in his eyes. He always asked if everything was ok, but Elias quickly dismissed the question and would run off into a different direction.
