Prologue: Once upon a time......
Once upon a time, in a far away land, there lived a kingdom where a ghastly king sat on a nice, bejeweled throne. In most stories the king is someone great, someone for the people, someone that’s a leader. In this story, the king is the opposite of those characteristics. He is a foul human, truly despicable, a person who only cares about themselves. This King’s soul is a sad one, his soul carried heavy sorrow from the past. In his mind, the trauma he witnessed and endured was the reason he turned out the way he did. If other people heard his story, they wouldn’t blame him for being so cold. Not knowing how to control the pain of his childhood and grieve like he should, he directs his hatred to the kingdom. The kingdom suffers from his temperament, though he shouldn’t allow his anger to be taken upon the people he rules, he feels like he doesn’t have any other choice, he’s too scared. He wonders if his kingdom knew his story, that they will understand and forgive him, but he is too afraid that they will be mad at him for having the feelings he has so instead of them having the chance to hate him first he makes sure that it’s him who pushes his people away, by hurting them first. His people suffer from poverty, barely being able to pay for food and to take care of their children. Tariffs on goods skyrocketed after the king decided to get into gambling. Knights of the kingdom abuse the common folk, having people basically kneel before them like the king himself. Diseases spread crazier than ever from the lack of water to clean oneself. People also didn’t have access to medicine and doctors. What was a kingdom that was known for it being the happiest is now a kingdom full of darkness, death, hatred, and sorrow. The people are growing desperate for a change, a miracle for them to be able to thrive again. Will the king have a change in heart one day? Maybe one day someone will able to help him do that, help him find love instead of hatred.
