It was dark.
“Gabriel?” I called. No response. Damn it.
I walked around, feeling the walls. The room had a makeshift feeling of a home. What is going on here? Did they teleport us? Then they must have done that to Cassian too. What is this place?
“Hello?” My hand ran over what felt like a door handle. I paused for a moment before pushing it open. There was lights on on the other side of the door. I was in the landing of what looked like a family home. A glass smashed from somewhere in the house. I started running towards the sound, stopping when I saw a smaller version of Cassian run past me, not seeming to notice me.
“Hey- Cassian?” I tried to grab him.
“He can’t see you.” I turned around as fast as possible to see a man in a top hat standing behind me, leaning on his stick.
“Who are you?” I asked. What’s going on.
“I don’t know. Maybe a figment of your imagination? All of your greatest fears mixed into one being.. Or just a happy man on his way to a very interesting show.” He glanced at the stairs behind me, where the younger looking version of Cassian had went. Oh fuck. He knows something.
I turned and ran as fast as I could towards the stairs, the man started following me.
I sped up, vaulting over the bannister to get down the stairs quicker, freezing at what I saw.
