Gretchen is wearing black longer than the kids even weeks or months after the Dad’s funeral. This is because Widows were expected to wear mourning clothes for much longer, almost 2 years after the death.. but men and children didn’t have to nearly as long!
AUGH THIS SERIES IS CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. I've just finished season one and it's so good, I am in love with your style, the lineart you do on faces is so wonderful, I especially love the way you do noses, with the line to indicate that front curve of the nose. All your characters look distinct and I love your use of colors and the way you shade things with both gradients and soft cell shading. Like literally in love with the blues that you use for Mina's dress, and the way you light the skin around earrings, it makes them stand out a lot as a sign of wealth for the main cast!
The story is also wonderful, every character feels distinct and you capture their motivations very well. I'm hoping to one day make my own historical supernatural comic and this is literally my exact type of content, I am LOOKING WITH MY EYEBALLS AT THIS!!!!! I'm excited to learn about the witch!! Honestly fingers crossed the rain spirit can find love. I fw the rain spirit.
Sorry I just wrote a whole unhinged paragraph but I really love this and I wanted to leave you a comment!!
After the death of her Father, Whilhelmina "Mina" Fisher is invited to live with her Aunt in a mysterious town where it rains all the time. Her Aunt asks Mina to keep a close eye on her younger cousin, Ida, and make sure she doesn't fall in love. That's easier said than done, especially when Mina is distracted by something paranormal lurking in the rain…
