Desi makes a valid point. The tarot fulfils a need to understand a situation, especially with regards to circumstances people find difficult to face. However, not all Tarot readers are legit, which undermines the whole experience.
“The true definition of The Occult is a body of science which is not widely known to the general population, consisting of hidden knowledge about the workings of the human psyche and the laws of the Universe, both seen (physical laws) and unseen (Spiritual Laws).” De-Mystifying The Occult by Mark Passio.
Desidaro Sarno doesn’t remember what happened the night his girlfriend disappeared. The argument had left him so angry, he'd blacked out. Now that she’s missing, and the rumor mill churns in his small Louisiana town, Desi finds himself suspect for murder.
Desi’s high school classmate, witchy loner Casper Guidry, is the only other person who knows the truth. But without any evidence to clear his name, Desi faces losing everything to the court of public opinion: his scholarship, his band’s chance at fame, and his best friends.
Before the locals decide to feed him to the gators, the two set out to solve the mystery of her disappearance themselves. With a mangled body uncovered, a secret identity revealed, and whispers of a hungry, cannibalistic spirit, unfortunately all the uncovered clues point right back to Desi. But, is he really turning into a monster, or is he just another meal?
