"I turned his tail into a gas, and since your Singularity allows you to connect with Phillip, you also have a gas tail at this moment, trés bien!" she pointed.
"Huh???" Chogi turned around, as the gas tail destroyed the spiderweb, freeing him. "So you don't want to hurt us?"
"I'm just curious about your secrets!!!" she added.
"GAH!" Chogi shook. "Don't hurt me!" he covered his face with his hands.
"Eh?" she smirked. "Chogi..."
"I need to be in top form during the sports day!" he raised his voice. "But... even now I still struggle with keeping up..." he rubbed the back of his head.
"How about a deal, Chogi?" she got closer. "I get to experiment a bit more, and I'll help you train in one way or another!" she grinned.
Chogi got a bit nervous.
"I've already seen you train, beforehand, so I already know the basics, besides, experimenting will lead me to develop my Singularity, so it's a win-win situation!" she raised her finger.
"I'm feeling used..."
"Because you're about to be, Chogi." Leira walked in from the side, as the two looked at her. "Paula, what on earth are you trying to do?"
"Learn."
"You just want to use Chogi, don't you?" she asked, raising her eyebrows.
"Mmm... I wouldn't call it that!" she jumped around.
"You're not even using this time to do personal training. You're hiding around the forest and looking at Singularities of other people," she stated.
"I'll-" Chogi looked at his monkey. "I'll go swing around for a bit!" he ran off, in some fear.
"Leira, you're smart, eh?" Paula got closer to her. "Everything and everyone hides something from one another, you never know what his Singularity can be hiding. This might as well prove beneficial to him more than to me!" she explained, moving her hands.
"...and so you think you'll be able to help Chogi train? Do you even know where to start?" asked Leira.
"Just look at him, he's doing so well already!" she signalled, as Chogi hit a branch, falling to the ground. "Nevermind!"
Paula looked away. "He's totally useless." she added, coldly, as Leira looked at her in confusion. "...and that's why I'll help him!"
"I heard you mumble through your sleep that you hate people who are dumber than you are." Leira continued. "I can assure you, that if you won't look deeper into what Chogi actually is, you'll treat him the same way you treat Juablo."
"B-But I'm nice!" Paula stomped.
"Yes, and I'm the queen of England, right?" smirked Leira, before turning and looking at Chogi. "He's quite childish, but underneath that curious and innocent surface lies a hard-working person with a better understanding of things around him than most. He knows when to distance himself, and he knows how to treat others. If it wasn't for Chogi, I doubt we'd be even speaking right now."
"Huh?" Paula looked at her.
"Well..." she put her hand on her head. "He kinda cracked me, didn't he? I couldn't remain the quiet girl from a distance at all times. He kept speaking. I doubt I'll be able to match Chogi's energy, but I can certainly help him train better than you'd do."
Paula made a strange expression.
"In the meantime, go torture someone else who'd actually buy into your sweet little words." she grinned, as Paula frowned.
"You're so cruel!" Paula strolled.
"Ahh..." Leira breathed out. "But I need to repay my debt to him. I can't just give up, since when he saw me struggle, he reached out." she clapped her hands. "Chogi, come here!"
Chogi ran up to her, excited. "I saw a mansoa!" his eyes were lit up.
"Oh yeah?" she smiled.
"Damn it." thought Paula, sitting at the edge of the forest. "That Leira..! Brr!" she shook her head. "Why doesn't she understand that I'm doing this in the name of science! More importantly, for the ones who want to discover secrets but that opportunity has been taken away from them..!" she clapped her hands. "Je suis triste."
She walked out of the forest, looking around. "Life's full of secrets..! If we don't discover them, how will we keep living?!" she asked herself, before stopping, looking at Lievpad from a distance.
Lievpad stopped his training, and then looked at her, waving.
She waved back, as she started thinking about something. "I'm sure I've heard that Lievpad's Singularity developed much later than anyone else's. Why... why is that?" she put her hand on her chin.
"If we want to know the most about the French revolution, I think it'd be best if we look at the books on that shelf there." Rico pointed, as Ben stood up. "Wow, I didn't even have to say a thing!" he put his head on the desk.
"Sorry, I just thought we agreed that you two are a bit too short!" he smiled, before walking over to the shelf.
"You don't have to repeat that, over and over again," Leira spoke. "At the same time... it's kinda funny that Rico is shorter than me."
"Hm!" Rico looked away.
"Rico, do you have any plans for this project?" asked Ben.
"Well, first of all-"
All of a sudden, the door to the library swung open, with Lievpad standing in the doorway. "Pardon the intrusion~," he said, with some melody in his voice, as he, Juablo and Paula walked in.
Rico covered his eyes.
"Oh, you're also doing the project?" Juablo looked at the others.
"Shut up," Rico muttered, as Leira tried not to laugh.
"Hello, you guys!" Ben waved. "How are you doing?"
"We're just here to get the books for Anglo-Saxon England," Lievpad stated. "Then, we'll be taking our leave-"
"Maybe we could stay here instead? Seems like a nice place." Paula looked around.
"Oh, your first time here?" asked Leira, smirking.
"Hehe. No." Paula added.
Rico started trembling a bit, as Lievpad borrowed the books from the shelves. Paula and Juablo walked around the library for a moment more.
"Okay..." Rico breathed out. "My idea is to create this-"
"OH! I LOVE THIS BOOK!" Juablo pointed.
"SHUT UP!!!" Rico stood up, yelling. "IF YOU CAN'T STAY QUIET, THEN GET OUT OF MY SAFE REFUGE!"
"Wow, rude." Paula looked at him.
"I'm no expert, but I think libraries are places where you're expected to be quiet," added Lievpad, as Rico started pushing the three out the door. "Thanks for the books-" he slammed it shut.
"Rico, aren't you overreacting a bit?" asked Ben.
"Firstly, Chogi... then Marta... and now these three!" he moved his hands around. "Can we even start that goddamn project?!" Rico walked over to a shelf, taking out a book.
All of a sudden, the door opened, with Fabio standing in it. "Hi-" Rico threw the book at his English teacher.
here was a separate field, further away from the running tracks. It is an arena, complete with bleachers surrounding it.
On that field, Lievpad was flying, using the Emboards. He quickly made turns, reached his hand out multiple times and flipped midair twice.
Then, he descended, jumping down from the Emboard onto the soft grass below.
"Amazing!" Marta ran up to Lievpad, who rubbed the sweat off his forehead. "Are you going to participate in the Emboard game in July?"
"I doubt it. I just wanted to see if my skill for Emboards back then wasn't fueled by emotion, rather, it reassured me that I kept a calm mind when heading into battle with Neil," explained Lievpad, before clenching his fist, so he wouldn't look at his palm.
"Heh, Emboards are really fun, though, wouldn't you agree?" asked Marta. "They're so easy to control if you just know what you're doing..." she walked forwards, as Lievpad slowly headed out of the field. "Take care, Lievpad!" she closed her eyes, before jumping onto the Emboard, and flying around at high speeds.
"I'm already good at Emboards." thought Lievpad. "There's no need for improvement there, and I don't feel like proving it otherwise." he turned his head. "Still. I wouldn't say that I'm even close to Marta's level, though. It's impressive how much she keeps going with these sports." he started walking towards the school, before seeing another student, looking at Marta, standing next to the arena. Lievpad sighed, before walking forward. "I'll keep training my Singularity." he thought.
Marta dived down, skillfully, touching the ground with her hand and moving her body to the side. "Woohoo!" she exclaimed. The fireflies around her danced energetically, as she jumped off, landing on her knees with a smile.
Suddenly, she heard clapping, not far away. Marta turned her head, seeing a short student, congratulating her, with a smile. "Hehe!" Marta laughed. "I can do even better than that!"
The student ran up to Marta, as she stood up. He looked at her for a moment, before turning red, as his smile faded away. "No need to be embarrassed," she added. "You're the same as me!"
"Huh..." he looked down. "I'm... Arlo..." he continued.
"Hi, Arlo! How long were you looking at my training?" she asked.
"Mmm... very long... you're so... cool..." he continued. "Mmm..." he moved his fingers around.
"Then, will you count on me during the match?" she asked. "There are four players that are supposed to be playing!"
Arlo shook his head.
"Eh?" Marta looked confused, as Arlo took out a piece of paper from his pocket, and started scratching something. He showed it to Marta.
"You're also going to be playing?" her eyes lit up, as Arlo nodded, smiling a bit. "Then, that makes us rivals!" she pointed. "At the same time, I can't be rude to someone who looks at me the way you did, Arlo." she continued. "So, let's be friendly rivals, okay?" she stuck her hand out, as Arlo slowly shook it. "Haha!" she chuckled.
"First and foremost, how good are you at this already?" asked Marta.
Arlo signalled with his hand. "So-so."
"Then, let's turn that into amazing, shall we?" Marta raised her voice. "Through hard work, anything can be achieved, and with a sporty spirit, things get even better each time you approach this difficult challenge! Arlo! Fly with me!" she added, reaching her hand out, as Arlo nodded, running up to other Emboard.
Both quickly took to the skies, soaring through the air at matching speeds, until Marta decided to speed up, just slightly. Arlo had trouble catching up, as his Emboard shook for a moment.
"Arlo! Focus! Don't get distracted!" Marta raised her voice. "You want to be amazing at this, don't you?" she asked.
Arlo stopped for a moment, looking down. Marta slowed down, circling around him, with a concerned expression on her face. "I used to be called talented, Arlo!" she added. "But, that doesn't always carry everything out the way you want it to!"
She also looked down. "Just because I had some natural talent... people always expected so much of me," she stated. "So I had to catch up." she looked at Arlo again. "I don't want you to feel the same way I did!" she yelled, pointing, as he looked a little happier. "Let's keep training together! I'll match your speed now, Arlo!"
