"Ugh, what a pain." thought Rico. "I'm glad I prepared something, though." he cracked his knuckles, walking forwards. He looked at all the other classmates. He noticed Leira, smiling and Ben jumping up, excited. "Mm... I'm going to the library after this." he thought, putting his hands on his head.
Lievpad stepped closer to Mari, looking at the list. "Curious, aren't we?" asked Mari. "But I think I might understand where you're coming from."
"I want to see what others can do. If we work together as a class, maybe we could all grow stronger?" asked Lievpad.
"Might as well be the case." Mari looked forwards. "Rico Kirchner, Singularity: Polaris. With his base ability, he can cause metal, iron, cobalt and nickel to be of opposite magnetic poles, allowing them to work like magnets."
"Huh." Lievpad looked at Rico. "This isn't even close to the strength of Elipse Eclipse." he thought.
The area Class A-1 found themselves in was an empty field, north of the school building, somewhere near a forest where Calm would usually reside.
Rico put an object further away, and then, using a metallic bracelet on his hand, caused the other one to instantly fly towards him at incredible speeds. "Alright. Works like a charm."
"Now..." Mari squinted his eyes, as he looked at Rico's hand, which shined brightly. A loud, low noise could be heard for a moment. "Rico, activate it!" Mari raised his voice, with a smile on his face.
Rico ground his teeth, as his hand suddenly moved his entire body towards the students. With all of that force, he stopped near Ben's body, as his hand rested on his chest. Rico looked away.
Everyone in the class was shocked.
"What do you think this might be, Rico?"
"B-Ben..." asked Rico.
"Mm?" Ben looked at him.
"What's your blood type?"
"I think it's B."
Rico moved his hand back, looking at it. "Mine's O."
"So you think it might be blood magnetism?" asked Leira.
"I can test it on others, too." he continued.
"We'll confirm the results sooner or later. For now, we should focus on the fact that you've easily managed to activate your tier one ability. This should be a breeze for everyone, then," explained Mari, smirking. "Good job, Rico." he grabbed his hand, shaking it. "Now, let's move you away from Ben to avoid this ongoing embarassment~"
Next up, Leira. Rico immediately looked at his friend, as she winked at him, standing in the same place he did.
"What about her?" asked Lievpad.
"Leira Boedo, Singularity: Nature's Wrath. She can change any part of her body into vines or branches, connecting with the environment itself. But... her Singularity energy suggests that this might be an ability with something else hiding beneath its surface."
"Hiding?" Paula asked, excited.
Leira's arm changed into a massive branch, which was wrapped around with vines. The branch extended into the ground, before appearing again below her feet, raising her body.
"It's gonna happen again..." commented Paula.
Leira's body was surrounded by an aura for a moment. She looked at her hand, which had just transformed back, with one leaf instead of her fingertip. At that moment, everyone heard a calm, and soothing sound, coming from her body. "Sounds of nature..." she muttered, before smiling widely.
"So cool! You can create an entire orchestra with your body!" Marta added.
"Yeah, maybe I'll even throw a concert," muttered Leira.
"Really?"
"No!"
"As for now, we'll have to dig deeper to find what Leira's second ability can actually do. You don't go searching for seashells at a beach, knowing where they would be." Mari noted.
The Singularity test continued.
Benjamin Silva, Singularity: Galvanic Meltdown. He can create sparks of electricity from his fingertips at the same time. Tier one ability, Superspeed. Using the electricity which spread from his fingers down to his toes, he can achieve great speeds for a short amount of time.
"The time that you can activate Superspeed can be trained and bettered," Mari added, as Ben breathed in and out, tired. "Singularities themselves are much like ideas. If you can think of it, you can probably do it. Using your brain to the maximum each time, and with each repeated thought process, these will strengthen."
Nivel Laurenoze, Singularity: Sunken Zero Breath. The air that he breathes is sometimes turned into steam, which then is brought to the temperature of 1 Kelvin, without changing into ice. The temperature often varies in his throat, which causes him to cough a lot. Tier one ability, Icicle. By breathing out and closing his mouth, the low-temperature steam can be turned into sharp ice.
Nivel coughed, scratching a scratch card.
Paula Poppington, Singularity: Ultimate State. Paula can change the state of any object, from solid to liquid to gas. Tier one, Half-State, Paula can keep something in the same state, but change its properties to another.
Juan Pablo Roldán, Singularity: Dragon Dance. Two dragons, one of fire and one of water. Tier one, Dragon Sword. The two dragons can change into a sword for just a moment, which has both properties of water and ice, at the same time.
Che Moyo Godoy, Singularity: Primal Retention. Chogi can control two animals at the same time, himself and another. The controlled animal acts much like Chogi, with its own limits. Tier one, Animal. Chogi can take on the properties of the animal he controls for a few seconds.
Rejire Ponpeu, Singularity: Aqua Pura Anima. When Rejire is not asleep, and he touches a body of water, he turns into something of a fish, mixed with a human. He can breathe underwater. Tier one, Water Jump, lets him swap between two bodies of water, similarly to Yaku's teleportation, but with great limits.
Marta Moreau, Singularity: Fireflies. A bunch of fireflies, which sort of act like additional hands for Marta. They can fly at any speed, always catching up to her, but she can send them to do other stuff. Tier one, Multiplication. Her four fireflies turn into eight, for about a minute.
"...and." Mari turned to Lievpad. "You."
Lievpad gulped, walking forwards. "I have to prove myself, right now. If I get hurt again, I won't be able to use my Singularity." he thought. "How can I ever grow stronger, if I can't even be at the same level as my classmates?" he stuck his hand out.
"It came to everyone so naturally," Juablo said, stepping towards Mari. "But I feel like Lievpad still has to think about using his Singularity, rather than treating it as a part of his body."
"Apparently, Lievpad's Singularity developed two days before the school year," Mari added.
"Huh?" Juablo was shocked.
"So, it's no surprise. Still, I think he has great potential."
"Yeah, Lievpad's a great Amigo, but is Class A-1 really the place for him?"
"This class isn't about how strong or controllable your Singularities are." Mari put his glasses down. "It's about goals. Everyone is here for a different, Singularity-based reason. We're represented by the sun because it shines brightly for those with great opportunities. As far as I know... Lievpad's goals are probably the biggest."
"I need to become the strongest." thought Lievpad. He closed his eyes, before suddenly opening them again. He put one foot forwards. "Grghh!" The orb started rolling down his shoulder, right to his forearm, before sliding across the ground again, bouncing off with much impact and disappearing in the distance. Lievpad breathed out, looking forward, flabbergasted.
His body then shined, as he stuck his hand out again. "Tier one..." he ground his teeth. All of a sudden, a small handball popped out of his hand.
"Huh." he looked down.
"That's... anticlimactic..." said Leira.
"Yeah... all that excitement for a handball," Rico replied.
Lievpad picked up the ball and threw it towards Juablo. "Catch," he said, unenthusiastically.
Juablo didn't catch the ball. It hit his head.
Lievpad Peninta, Singularity: Elipse Eclipse. Lievpad can roll down an orb from his forearm, with extremely destructive properties, even to himself. Tier one, Ball Creation. Lievpad can create any sports ball he can think of at that moment. Each ball has different properties, with the handball having none (except for hitting Juablo's face).
"That was so cool, Lievpad!" Ben raised his hands. Mari walked up to Lievpad, putting his hand on his shoulder.
"I'm glad you didn't hurt anyone this time, Lievpad." he smiled.
"If I can angle my hand just right, it will bounce off exactly where I want it to. I didn't realize that I can't just point forwards, since it rolls off at my wrist." Lievpad shook his hand around. "I'll train more though until I can become even stronger."
"Things just got way more interesting now, didn't they?" smiled Mari.
