Instead of focusing on our desires, our blessings, our family…etc. We lack a little sensitivity to pray as much as we ask for ourselves in favor of others.
We need more boldness to pray pray for:
"Here am I. Send me!"
"Yet not my will, but yours be done."
When we surrender our lives to Christ, from that moment on we agree to live not our way, but the way that pleases Him.
So the beautiful phrase "It's my life, I do what I want" no longer fits any Christian, now we must adopt this phrase "My life is Jesus's, I do what He wants".
We do not live for ourselves anymore, but to satisfy the good, perfect and pleasing Will of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Therefore, make a habit of asking to be used by God and that you may do everything, not your will but His Will. You might be a bit afraid, thinking you've become a slave and will never be happy again.
That's where you're wrong, I've never felt more free and joyful than when I do God's Will, even if it goes directly against mine. Why? Generally, we wish for bad things thinking they are good and we find that out the worst way- suffering because of it. But what the Lord wants is always the best for me.
