Proverbs 19:18 AMPC
"Discipline your son while there is hope, but do not [indulge your angry resentments by undue chastisements and] set yourself to his ruin."
There is a big difference between getting hit once by a wooden spoon and being the victim of pure aggression - sheer violence. I know I don't need to say this, but I'll say it anyway: don't mistreat or beat up children and teenagers.
Just to clarify, when I speak of punishment I am not referring, much less support, to the cruel act of beating one's own children. The Bible itself instructs us not to do this.
It's one thing it's a spank, it's another to literally beat up a minor unable to defend himself.
I do not mean to offend or insult you, I have stated the obvious to ensure that there is in no way a gap in our communication.
I just wanted to remove any loopholes that would lead to the content being misinterpreted. The Bible condemns injustice and taking advantage of weak or vulnerable people - abuse of authority.
"Do not envy the violent or choose any of their ways. For the LORD detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence."
Proverbs 3:31,32 NIV.
