Omega X
Chapter 05.2 | The Blue Devil (Continued)
Aston punched Seok in the side of the face. It barely fazed the Superior Alpha. “Haha…” Seok laughs lowly. He grabs Aston by his shirt collar, “Our friendship goes way back Aston. If it didn’t I would crush your fucking skull in. So I’ll just do it hard enough that you won’t ever fucking do that again!” Seok raises his fist up. X gasps.
“Wait! Stop it!” X grabs onto Seok’s arm. “Stop!”
Seok glares at X, “Not now!” He yells. Seok, now an uncontrollable Alpha, swings his arm back to get the omega off him, not realizing the severe impact of his fist on him.
X falls back. SLAM! His back hits the bed frame. Hard. A huge deep red marking is clear on his right eye, the side of his face already swelling. X becomes unconscious from the sudden impact to his face.
The two men freeze. Aston glares at Seok and rips his friend’s hand off his shirt. “God damn it Seok! What the fuck!” He rushes to X’s side. He looks over on the damage his stupid Alpha friend has done.
Seok runs his hand through his hair. “God dammit…!” He grinds his teeth. “Stupid omega…he should know not to go near an agitated Alpha like this!”
“Seok, he is literally brand new to the whole fucking second genders! Don’t go fucking blaming your mistakes on him! He can’t even smell pheromones!”
“So now you’re fucking defending him? After you wanted to ship him off and lock away the god damn key!?”
Aston grumbles. “Seok, you’re not understanding how grave this situation is. I want to help X but at what cost? The cost can be greater than what you can handle. We have been friends for twenty five years Seok….I can’t and I refuse to let you get hurt.”
“Then you should know after twenty five years that I can handle myself Aston.” Seok bends down to look at what he had done to X. God damn it X…. He swipes a strand of hair behind X’s ear. Why the hell did you have to do that….
Seok looks at his hand then at X’s swollen face He gets to to his feet and curses under his breath.
Aston takes his tiny flashlight from his coat pocket and lifts up X’s eyelids to test his response. X grumbles in his unconsciousness. Aston stands up, “Let’s get him into bed, I’ll give him some NSAIDS when he wakes, in the meantime we can apply a cold pack to keep the swelling down.”
Seok nods and picks X up into his arms. Again, he feels like a feather in his arms. Seok looks down at the omega. Dammit….
Seok carries X to the guest bedroom and lies him upon the bed while Aston retrieves an ice pack from Seok’s fridge. He walks into the bedroom and realizes Seok’s just standing there staring down at X.
“I got the ice pack for his swelling, once I get some of it down, come into the living room so I can treat your hand.” Seok is still standing there, not responding to him. “Seok…?”
“It’s going away…” he mutters.
“What?” Aston asks. He paces up to X’s bed. He gasps out of shock and confusion. What the hell? The swelling and bruising are…vanishing.
Aston takes a closer look at X’s face. The swelling and immediate redness from Seok’s hit have gone down by half. Aston looks perplexed. “Ah…I…I don’t know what this is.” He admits.
“You’re the god damn doctor Aston.” Seok spouts.
He strokes his forehead. “I’m a doctor but I have no fucking idea how this is medically possible…” Aston scratches his head, seconds later something dawns on him. “Wait… the night he found your house, he had no injuries on his body, right?” He takes X’s arm where he had drawn blood and then looked at his forearm where he had injected the sedative only just yesterday. No tiny marks or mild bruising, nor apparent swelling or tenderness as one would get from both of those things. “He was completely unscathed, wasn’t he Seok? He didn’t have so much a scratch or bruise from breaking your thick doors open…”
Seok raises his brows. “What are you suggesting Aston?”
Aston contemplates. “Superior Alphas and Omegas do have a fast healing rate, but it’s not superhuman…. A broken leg for example will heal a week faster than others…but this…this is his body already healing miraculously within mere seconds.” Aston stands up. “They also have great immune systems and can withstand more than dominate or regular second genders…however with X’s phL levels and blood results…X appears to have a healing process the medical field has never before seen in…anyone.”
Seok exhales sharply. “It explains why the over the top effort to find him… he really is a fucking gem.”
Aston gravely replies. “Those men will be back.”
“I know Aston” Seok takes a long breath in. “But we can’t just send him back or hide him away within a hospital room all alone."
Aston remains quiet. He truly does not see another option for X's situation. He needs to keep his friend safe.
Seok perks up. “We’ll go to my safe house in South Seog-Yeong District.” He suddenly spouts.
Aston gawks. “What?”
The Alpha paces around the room. “I’ll call Ashford to watch him during he day while I work, she’s almost as strong an Alpha like me.”
“Seok are you serious?” Aston can’t believe Seok would risk his safe house location. “Seok I can have him at my clinic. I have a room and they wouldn’t suspect me hoarding this omega.”
Seok pauses, his injured hand tenses. “You and I both saw X…heard him when you were about to draw his blood.” He looks at X, still unconscious, but his head wound almost completely healed. “I don’t think I can have another omega’s death on my conscious.” With that said, Seok grabs his cellphone and walks out the room, needing to make the proper preparations.
3 Days Later
The setting sun overcasts the waters of Puleun River. Mikhailov had been waiting two hours for Chief Park to meet him, no man and no car approached him. He takes out his phone to call his right hand man.
“Sir?” The voice over the phone answered.
“Ah, Mr. Risha, Chief Park has not come to our agreed meeting place. Has he attempted to call our burner about change of plans?”
“No Sir.” The voice replied.
“Mr. Risha, can you so gladly give me Chief Park’s home address? I hate meddling like this but he leaves me no other choice.”
1 Hour later
Mikhailov arrives in the poor, crime stricken neighborhood of Jinju District, north of Puleun Dosi. There are barely any streetlights and the occasional shadow moves in the corner. Mikhailov makes sure his handgun is secured to his side and ready to fire. Sounds of dogs in the distant, yelling, far off sirens drench the surrounding area. He walks up to a rudimentary apartment complex, the cracking facade of the exterior shows no maintenance of any sort.
“245 huh? I wonder where the 100k went to… right Chief Park?” Mikhailov laughs sarcastically at the situation as he proceeds up the flight of stairs to the second floor. He looks left and right to see the ascending order of rooms . He turns right down the patio walkway, passing five apartment doors until he reaches room 245.
He knocks and no one answers. He knocks again but this time a neighbor two doors down comes out. A cringe worthy alpha comes fumbling over, his long brown hair sticks all over the place, his body is nothing but bones, purple bags underneath his eyes. Yeah, just what I expect in this part of this town. “Eh, you knocking on Park’s?” He scratches at the infected sores on his face. “He ain’t come out for a good few days, saw him go in all jittery and swoosh! Never came back out. Been quiet the few days.”
“Quiet?” Mikhailov asks.
“Yeah no screaming, no crying, if you see Park, tell ‘im he owes me what he borrowed…he’ll know what Im talkin’ bout.” The man lights up a cigarette and starts mumbling to himself before stumbling back into his apartment.
Mikhailov grimaces as he busts open the door. The stench of decay…rotting flesh overfills his senses. The whole apartment was small, the living and dinning room combined into the kitchen area. He walks in, quickly grabbing and covering his face with a handkerchief he retrieved from his jacket pocket.
He rushes into the living room looking around for any clues, everything is astray. There are pieces of broken glass loitering the floor, the coffee table has been crushed, and parts of the whole apartment had been thrown about as if a storm passed by. He glances around and spots a door cracked open. He can smell the decay from there….
As he approaches he crunches on something hard. He looks down to see a cracked framed picture of Chief Park and a pink haired omega woman smiling… it looked like an old photo based on how young they appeared.
He takes out a small flashlight along with his gun, he holds both up in an uniformed fashion to give light to his aim. He slowly opens the door and immediately his hands draw down. Before him was Chief Park, dead, on the queen sized bed. He flashes the light onto his face and can see a blue foam substance upon his mouth, his pupils completely white. He bared no clothes. Mikhailov flashes his light to the right and sees the woman from the photos, also naked, to his side. Her skin was discolored..blues, purples, yellow… all different healing stages of bruises upon her frail body. Her face is swollen and darkened, jaw displaced to the left as if the whole lower part is broken. Dried vomit is caked throughout on her body. Trails of coagulated blood streamed down her legs and onto the bed. He looks closer to see her leg had been broken, her shoulder too out of place just like her lower jaw.
She had been drugged, beaten, raped….killed.
The Blue Devil was only designed to be used on omegas. When an alpha injects himself, the consequences are….like this.
Mikhailov shakes his head and walks out of the bedroom and past the living room. He pass by a second picture frame he had missed when first coming in, one that is still hanging on the wall and one that has an additional person in it.
He walks by a second room closest to the bathroom area and suddenly stops. A horrid stench came through there too. He slowly looks up at the closed door to see a name plate upon it, Lil Ming’s Room. His eyebrow furrows as he slowly creaks the door open. His flashlight peers through.
Inside is a nursery.
Within this nursery is a crib
Within this crib has a blanket.
Mikhailov slowly walks in, half knowing what he is going to see….but a part of him wants to confirm that it isn’t true.
He walks up to the crib, the stench becoming more and more sickening…disgusting… the putrid mix of urine, feces, and death. He flashes his light onto the blanket within the crib, covering a small thing underneath. He can see a little hand poking out….the skin grey and discolored.
He lifts the blanket up.
Mikhailov is suddenly pouring over the outside apartment’s patio bars, panting. He hits his fist with his gun onto the balcony bars then his head. He hits it not once…not twice…but repeatedly.
The same man from earlier heard the commotion and comes out. “Hey, you okay man? Did you find that bastard Park?” The man grimaces as he covers his mouth with his hand. “Aw what the fuck is that smell man?”
Mikhailov, with his blackened eyes starting to glow a dark red and with blood dribbling down his face, shoots the man in the head. He pants and groans as he walks away. Fucking scum…fucking God damn scum!! Of all you pieces of shit! He makes it to the end of the staircase and to his car. Once inside, he opens up the glovebox, within that glovebox contained a department only he knew of that he created. He retreats a black phone from this secret department.
He dials a number.
Someone picks up but does not verbally answer.
“Mourning Dove, December.”
The phone clicks dead.
