Asher
"So? How was it? There wasn't a bunch of drama with your aunts again right?" I ask sipping my tea. "Huh?" Aiden mumbles looking up at him confused.
He's been zoning out all day. I shift forward slightly, "The reunion thing you went to yesterday? You haven't brought it up."
"Oh... Nothing really happened. Most of my family couldn't make it. But the food was good so that's something" He says smiling slightly still playing with a rubber band. "Are you okay?" I ask for what has to be the one-hundredth time in our friendship. And every single time I always get the same answer, "What do you mean? I'm fine."
He gets up going into his bag, he pops three Advils with no water before sitting back down. "Does your head hurt again?" I ask looking up at him and he nods slightly. "Well, are you okay" I tilt his head up slightly staring at him. "Did you drink water today?" He scoffs at that. "I should be asking you that he stares at me and I pause. "I ate a cup of ice? That counts right?" He laughs slightly. "Seriously though?" I stare at him and he pauses. "Have you eaten?" He shakes his head and I scoff. "Aiden it's 8 o clock. What the hell" I say standing up quickly. I sit my tea down mindlessly spilling a few drops on the table before quickly pulling him downstairs.
"Ma!" I call her before going into the kitchen. She looks up at us opening her mouth to speak but I beat her to it. "Aiden skipped breakfast and lunch." Her eyes quickly move from me to him and he sighs. "Well, dinner's done?" She says making him a plate. He thanks her quietly side eyeing me.
I roll my eyes going back upstairs for my phone.
Aiden stands there eating quietly and Selene clears her throat slightly handing him a cup. "Hey... If something is going at home you can always tell me I-" Aiden quickly stops her, "My parents made breakfast and stuff I just didn't eat it. And I just forgot lunch I swear." She pauses staring at him before twirling her finger. "Seriously? A truth bubble?" He scoffs and she stares silently at him. He steps forward slightly speaking into it. "My parents are feeding me at home. I just forgot today..." She looks down at it. Blue. He raises his eyebrows at her and she sighs. "Okay. But if something's wrong you can talk to me okay?" She stares at him and he nods slightly still eating. "Aiden!" Asher calls loudly and Aiden smiles slightly. She hands him another plate of food and he goes upstairs.
He hands me a plate of food before sitting next to me. "Oh. I wanna watch dirty dancing" He points to the tv.
I know. It's only the same movie we've been watching practically every day since we were thirteen.
.
I open my eyes slowly staring up at Aiden. A bead of sweat drips down his face as he turns over again. "Aiden" I whisper slightly and he turns over again to me still asleep. Tears start to stream down his face as he mumbles incoherently. I pause slightly before lightly shaking him. "Dude it's just a dream," I say shaking him again before he looks up at me.
"Sorry-" he mumbles wiping his face. "It's fine," I say in a low tone.
He's been having nightmares like this since we were kids. "You okay?" I whisper and he nods slightly laying back down.
