-- Writer's comment --
The surrealistic dystopian land in this story is intended to sarcastically capture ridiculous cultural dilemmas, depressing political events, and widening generational and ideological gaps currently happening in our country. It is not referring to any person in particular and the creators are not "national enemies" as some people may assume. Instead, this is a cry, one of the many, for safety, justice and free speech for everyone.
At The Grand Image, audiences get to see all the exotic, vibrant, and charming theatrical play, so much in contrast to what is happening at the backstage and outside the great barricades. But the truth has come knocking on the walls.
This one-shot comic tries to capture the feelings and confusion of Thai people under a huge clash between national images, international stereotypes, and everyday issues hidden away from the mainstream media. The work is bilingual and not honestly translated, so we recommend you read this with a Thai friend.
