The second that hat changed my house, I felt everything change for the better. Sure some people in Gryffindor keep giving me dirty looks, but I can live with that. I do want to know what Harry’s cousin is doing here. The first and last time I saw him was earlier today, when Harry had snuck him into the train station. Could that have something to do with his out of place appearance at Hogwarts? I'll have to ask Harry later. After the sorting, came my least favorite time; dinner time.
After about forty minutes, it's time to go to our dorms. I almost go with the Slytherins, but Harry grabs my arm. I forgot I had become a Gryfindoor. I wonder what the Gryffindor common room looks like. We walk in silence. When we enter the dorms, some dark haired boy pulls Harry aside. I'm lucky enough to hear them. “Harry, what is your cousin doing here? I thought he was a muggle.” Harry shakes his head. “Look Dean, I think he might be here because I let him into the station.” “You did what? Muggles aren't allowed-” Harry cuts him off “I know muggles aren't allowed in the station, but he wanted to see it and he's my cousin so he already knows magic exists.” The boy, Dean I think, takes this in. After a minute, he nods his head “I guess it's ok- as long as he's nice.” “Oh don't worry, he's a changed guy.” Nobody seems to have noticed me, all eyes on Harry’s cousin. Someone taps me on the shoulder. I spin around, but it's only Wea-Ron. “You seem tired mate, I'll show you where to sleep.” He gives me a weak smile, obviously someone, most likely his girlfriend, told him to be nice to me. “That sounds nice.” We walk towards the boys room. “Here's where we sleep and through that door is the bathroom. I assume you know where the perfect’s bathrooms are, right?” He looks at me for the first time since the train. “Yeah I know where they are but we aren't allowed in them?” He laughs, “You just have to be sneaky about it. Even Harry’s snuck in there before.” That fits with how Harry acts.
“Hey- Draco was it?” It's Dudley. What does he want from me? “Yes?” I turn around to face him. “Cool- Harry asked me to give this to y- Wait are you Ron? Harry’s best friend?” Ron gives him the dirtiest look. “What's it to you? Duddykins” He snickers. Dudleys face falls. “I guess Harry told you how I used to be. I've changed a lot since last year.” “Yeah right- I bet it's all an act to hurt Harry like you always do.” I have a feeling this is going to get very heated. I'm going to get ready for bed. I feel bad for leaving them there arguing but what else could I do? “Hey Draco.”
It's Harry. “How long have you been here?” That sounds a bit rude. “I mean like not that there's an issue with you being here just-” He cuts me off. “I know what you mean, I heard the whole thing. Looks like Ron just wants to argue with someone.” He means that they had gotten in the routine of fighting me so now We-Ron has to find someone else. “He said he was going to give me something- Dudley I mean? Something you sent him to give me.” “Oh it was just something silly. It doesn't matter much.” I raise my eyebrows. “What was it? Because it doesn't seem silly.” He blushes a bit. “Well it was a diary- or a journal, whatever you want to call it. I know that being in Gryffindor is new for you and I know writing what I feel helps me so I want-” “You don’t need to explain. I know what you mean and I think that's great! Thank you.” He's perfect! I have had some journals in the past when I was going through tough times and the fact that Harry got me one shows how caring he is. I do wonder how he got it, considering it's our first night staying here. He grins shyly, his face slightly flushed. “I'll be going now- Have a good night!” “Good night.” I walk back into the room to Dudley sitting on a random bed looking as if he was going to cry. “Hey dude.” I try to be casual. “Hello Draco.” He looks at me and gives a weak grin. “Do you ever wish you could curl up in a ball and disappear for a while?” He asks me. “All the time. I think you should give them some time, I have a feeling that they'll come around eventually. They did it for me and they actually knew me beforehand so I have a feeling they'll treat you nicer soon.” I hope that was a good enough pep talk. I'm really the worst person to go to for advice or pep talks. “Thanks.” He says, eyes no longer watery. “You seem like a pretty cool guy who just had the misfortune of being pressured by your family into being a jerk.” He adds. “That's actually pretty accurate.” I say. “Knock knock guys.” Harry is standing at the door with his beautiful smile. I've been in love with him ever since he decided not to shake hands with me in first year. He was the first person to deny me anything even if it was just a handshake.
