Addison knocked on the door, and soon was told to come in. She brought me in, and left. I heard someone call my name, and told me to come closer. I walked over to the table to see that there were two people. I hadn’t seen the lady in the back sitting down when I got there. I went up to the writing desk, and the man smiled. He was a middle aged man, around the age of 30. The woman was around the same age as him, and they seemed to be my caretakers. “There you are Ophelia. How do you feel about your stay here?” I smiled. “I like it!” The woman gave off a small laugh, and continued her embroidery. “That's good. Is there anything that you need to continue to satisfy your stay?” I frowned, thinking. “I don’t know. I like reading, and I also like being outside. I want to try gardening.” he nodded, seeming to write it down. “Anything else?” I shook my head, ‘no’. I was soon dismissed, and Addison was waiting for me outside the door. “How did it go with Mr. Seafrede?” I looked at her. “It went well. I asked for books.” She nodded. “Now, you go out an play.” I smiled, and she told me the way back outside. I went outside again, and looked around. Nothing much I hadn't seen when we moved in, but it sure was different. Everything was in the same place, it just was all new and being used and not sitting there like they were in 2023.
I walked through the “corridors” that would have doors occasionally. These doors would either lead to gardens, or more “corridors” that led to more gardens or different places. I tried a few doors, and they opened just like they did when I looked at them. I got bored mainly because I could tell that I was supposed to be outside. So, after walking around, I unintentionally bumped into someone. The guy turned around, and looked at me. I looked at him, my big round hazel eyes growing wider. He looked like one of those pretty gay guys that you’d see walking with their partner in London. “Hello there! You must be Miss. Ophelia. I’m Clio, nice to meet you. Or well, put your face to your name at least.” I nodded. “It’s nice to meet you too, Mr. Clio.” He seemed to give off a small squeal before he coughed to clear it out. “I work in the kitchens, and also I’m supposed to be your personal assistant.” I nodded again. His auburn hair glimmered in the dull sun, well, when it came out at least. He had amber eyes, and light skin dotted with freckles. It was nice to have an older figure as graceful as him. “We can go inside because it is gnarly cold out here. C’mon, I'll show you to your room. I can tell you haven’t seen it yet. You just got here after all.” I looked up at him. “How do you know..?” He looked at me. “I see that you found the key.” I nodded. “So, you all know that I'm new here because I found the key?” He nodded. “They won’t tell you that though. Now, I’ll tell you more. Time doesn’t change in your realm, wherever you may come from. We know it's a different child because well, you look different!” He gave off a small giggle before he continued. “You can stay here for as long as you like, and you also can come here wherever you like.” I nodded again.
He opened the door for me, and I went inside thanking him. He smiled happily, and soon I was brought to my room. It was a pretty room, with white colours and muted pinks. I looked around, and soon set my stuff down. He showed me around my room, and soon told me a secret. “There’s something I want to tell you, but don’t tell the others.” I looked at him. “I won’t tell other people.” He smiled. “Good. So, there's someone else in this house that’s around your age. Her name is Rosie. She’d hate it if you went and found her about now, so don’t do that. Wait for a while, and then go find her. She’ll most likely get me sent back to Ireland if she found I told you.” I nodded. He didn’t really have an accent, so I didn’t think that he was from there. I nodded my head again, and he opened the door. He was about to leave, but he turned around. “You’ll not be that lonely, mainly because there are things for you to do while you wait for a few days. It’ll be raining shortly just so you know.” I thanked him, and he shut the door quietly. I went over to the cupboard that had all my “new” stuff in it, and looked around. There were things to satisfy my curiosity and boredness.
I found that there was a book of plain paper, and stuff that was clearly for drawing or painting. I took all the stuff and put it on the drawing desk that was by the window. I was about to start drawing when I heard a piercing shriek, and soon pattering of feet and slamming of doors. I guess here we go. I ignored it, and went to start drawing. There were alot of things that happened that day, but I was glad that the rain started to pour. It drowned out a lot of sounds, well until my door was flung open and it slammed into the wall that is. I looked up to see that Clio looked like he just saw satan. “Alright, you. I’m staying here.” I giggled, and shook my head. “Alright. But, what happened?” He sat down next to me, on the floor, and watched as I was drawing. “What are you drawing?” I looked at him. “A character of mine. Why? Does he look bad?” Clio shook his head. “No, no. I just have never seen that style.” I shrugged a little. I had my own style of drawing, it wasn’t really realism, but it was kind of a mix of anime and realism. I don’t know how to explain it. “Anyways, Rosie is throwing a tantrum. So, I don’t know what to do- well, I'm not her personal servant so I don’t have to really help.” I started laughing. “You should all give her someone that she can fight with or something.”
Clio laughed, and shook his head. “Maybe. But, we don’t want her to hurt someone.” I frowned. “So, she’s not sick?” He shook his head, ‘no’. “She’s 5 years of age. And I don’t think that she would be sick.. Well, she hasn’t gotten sick yet.” I nodded my head. “Ok, so she doesn’t have like, uhh- tuberculosis or whatever my mother said that people used to get.” He shook his head ‘no’ again. “No, she’s just spoiled. But, she’ll get over it. People are telling her no now.” I smiled. “That’s good. I hope she discovers that the whole world, or to better explain it to her, orange doesn’t belong to her.” He burst out into a healthy fit of laughter. “That’s exactly what Lilythea told her mother, and her mother wants someone to tell Rosie that but everyone is too afraid to. That's why I hope that you can?” I smiled. “Time and place, I'll do it.” There was another loud shriek, and I covered my ears with my hands. “I think now would be a good time too.”
