“Aaaaand we are phone blind! Showtime ladies.”
Silver Tooth stuffed his phone into his vest and pushed through the hallway doors of the Metro Convention Centre. Following him close behind was Gold Neck, Scorpion, One-Eyed, Piercings, and Big Smoke. They all readied their weapons – AK-47s, SCAR, SPAS-12, UZIs – and marched through the halls of red-navy blue checkered floors and walls made from natural pine.
“Little less conversation little more action please~~” Silver hummed to himself as he checked the magazine of his silenced pistol, then looked at the ceiling. “Eyes front.”
Scorpion glanced up, spotting the cameras up ahead. He scoffed and he touched the Bluetooth clipped to his ear. “Baby brother, do your thing.” He then raised up a finger gun, making a bang gesture at the camera.
The camera blinked from green to dead black.
One-Eye leapt forward, finger gunning another camera. Dead.
Piercing also played along, two finger guns – akimbo! Dead. Dead.
The men cleared the hall and turned a corner. There were two guards up ahead. They were facing each other, one hand holding some sandwiches and their other hand trying to fix the wi-fi connection on their phones.
Big Smoke stepped up. Pulled the slider of his weapon with a ga-chuck, then whipped it up. “BANG!”
PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW~!
The silencer on his assault rifle sparked like crazy, popping small and suppressed flames into the air. The two guards were turned into Swiss Cheese, red blooming everywhere. Big Smoke used a full clip, before they dropped and stained the floor. He indulged in this moment of silence, inhaling his victory with a twisted smirk.
“DO YOU SMEEEELL, WHAT THE BOSS – IS – SMOOOOKIIING! HAHAHAHAH!”
“Well.” Silver Tooth walked over to pat Big Smoke on the shoulder, giving a nudge to Scorpion with bouncing eye brows. “Let’s join the main event shall we?”
The men pulled up their masks over their faces and slide down their sunglasses and goggles. After tucking the security guard bodies under a covered table of refreshments, they pushed through the doors of the convention hall.
A giant space packed with guests of both private, invited, as well as to members of the public who ordered a ticket months ahead. They all wore suits and fancy dresses, holding onto champagne as hors d’ oeuvres would be served around by catering.
And the main course.
Diamonds.
To the left. To the right. In cases, on statue displays, or worn by models on the catwalks. Necklace, bracelets, earrings, chokers, watches, tiaras - Emerald Cut, Oval, Pear Shape, Round Cut, Marquise, Princess Cut, Radiant Cut. Everywhere! Sparkling as an ocean under the skylight. The men’s eyes glittered.
Now, it was time to shine harder on those crazy diamonds! Yee-haaw!
PEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEWPEW~~!
One-Eye fired his UZI, the silencer burning up. It ripped through another security guard, making him drop his shotgun. It was the fall of the guard’s weapon clattering on the floor that got everyone’s attention.
Screams. Surviving guards took one glance at to what the bandits were packing, and had no choice but to let go of their weapons and drop to their knees. More screams. Big Smoke waved at the crowd with a toothy grin – then shot one guard in the head, point blank.
No more screams.
Embracing the silence, Big Smoke raised out his arms – a wrestler on the grand stage!
“Ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the Diamond Convention of the Century! We, have a very special performance for you! First, we be needin’ some volunteers!...You! Lady with the Deep V, you look perfect for the job! Hahaha! I’ll take your screams as a yes, come on up darling!”
As Big Smoke and the brothers got to work in crowd control, Silver Tooth sneaked up to Scorpion with a whisper. “Maaaan, wish he was my dad.”
