Of course they came over to disturb our bath.
I guess there's no more quiet time with these townies here to pester us. Couldn't they leave us alone?
Though judging by Chris' smile he is more than happy to see them. And by them, I mean Lisa. Now this bitch Lex is thirsting after Tristan so blatantly that even a pup can scent it.
Really, bitch? You brought two bathing suits but couldn't be bothered to bring him one? Seriously?
Are you in heat? Because Sarah has a tea for you if you are. 🙄
"I'm joking, of course I brought you one as well." - He said after a moment, then pulled another bathing suit out of his backpack and tossed it to Tristan, who grabbed it giggling like an idiot.
"Thank you, Lex. You didn't have to trouble yourself on our account." - Tristan told him as he put on the bathing suit underwater.
"I didn't want Lisa to feel uncomfortable with the naked boys." - He spoke, causing his friend to blush.
"Thanks, Lex." - She muttered, embarrassed.
Christian walked out of the water in his blue speedo and came close to her. She couldn't help but gawk at his nearly naked figure.
Chris stands at 5.8', blond, blue eyes and less than 5% body fat. He's lean and not a mean bone in his body.
"Wow, Christian. You would be very popular at our school!" - Ben admired his physique, causing Lisa to riot.
"Back off, bitch! Don't make me shift and bite you!" - She threatened, not amused. Ben laughed.
"Do you think so? I've never even been to a school before." - He admitted with his innocent façade.
"Definitely." - Ben reiterated, looking him up and down.
Christian smiled wide at the proposition, but Lisa still isn't amused by it.
"I'm mind linking Teddy if you don't stop!" - She menaced, furrowing her eyebrows at him.
"I'll shut up now." - He said, pretending to zip up his lips.
"What's mind link?" - I asked him, walking out of the water in my orange speedo.
He sighed at my question.
"You don't need to answer if it's a bother." - I spoke in an angry tone, rolling my eyes at his hubris.
"Mind link is how werewolves from the same pack communicate. We use our mind to speak to each other without saying a word. It's very useful when we're among humans or in wolf form." - Lisa lectured in a polite way.
"Thank you." - I said, smiling at her before glaring at him.
"Wait, you can communicate without saying a word? With anyone from your pack?" - Chris asked, baffled at the revelation.
Tristan and I are also shocked. How many things have we been missing out about being a werewolf? That would come in handy at the camp.
"Can we do that too?" - Christian asked her, intrigued.
"No, unfortunately only pack wolves can. You need to be linked to an Alpha to be able to do that. He's the head of the pack." - She explained, pitying us.
"We know what an Alpha is." - I said, rolling my eyes. We're not THAT ignorant. She smiled awkwardly at me.
"Oh man! I would like to speak without saying anything too. It would be really cool!" - Christian sulked, pouting like a little boy.
"That would be cool. Can you imagine the things I could say to you without anyone knowing?" - Tristan flirted with Lex, who nearly drooled. He walked out of the river in a flaming red skimpy speedo.
"You're sleeping outside of the tent tonight." - I jabbed at him, who gasped in shock.
"You sleep in a tent?" - Lex jumped to question, wide-eyed.
"They're rogues, Lex. Where did you think they slept?" - Ben interjected in a 'duh' tone.
"Not in a tent." - He replied, surprised.
"You don't need to sound so condescending. We like sleeping in a tent. But we're working on building us a house for the winter." - I said, glaring at the arrogant boy.
"I would offer my bed but my dad would never allow it." - Lex told Tristan, flirtatiously. I growled at him.
"That's okay. He's just joking. It's not his tent to expel me from." - Tristan rebuked, sideways glaring at me. I grunted.
"Can I ask you a personal question?" - Christian surprised Lisa, who said yes.
"Would you be disappointed if I were your mate?" - He asked her, fearful of the response.
She got really shocked by the question and thought for a second, looking at his sweet - gorgeous - face.
"No, I wouldn't. As long as you joined our pack. You could get your GED, maybe even become a warrior or work on something else. But I wouldn't be disappointed. Are you kidding me? You're more handsome than any guy I've ever dated!" - She replied, honestly.
Christian opened the biggest smile I've ever seen in my life at her response.
"Damn, Christian! And she dated the star quarterback!" - Ben commented, baffled at the compliment. But not in a patronizing way, for once.
"Thanks, Lisa. I know it's very unlikely that a special girl like you would be my mate, but I'd be the happiest boy on Earth if you were." - Christian spoke from the heart. Literally all of us swooned at his words.
Lisa kissed him on the lips and Christian got the shock of his life. Both me and Tristan gasped at this, mesmerized.
"Hey, can I kiss you too or your non mate is gonna murder me?" - Lex asked Tristan and I really shouldn't be so surprised, but I am.
"Yes." - He replied, shining his beautiful smile at him. Lex jumped at his arms, kissing him with hunger.
I do want to murder him. But I can't. Tristan is free to do as he pleases, he's not my mate. Though right now that's not much of a comfort.
"I'm sorry." - Ben pulled me aside to speak.
"It's fine. I'll stab him when he's sleeping." - I snickered, causing the boy to get wide-eyed at me.
"I'm joking!" - I clarified, rolling my eyes.
"He can seed him for all I care!" - I brushed it off, sulking.
"Seed him?" - He laughed at me.
I glared at him.
"You know you can have sex without seeding anyone, right?" - He spoke in a patronizing tone.
"If you're going to make fun of me you don't need to speak, brat." - I snarled at him, angrily.
"You're right. I'm sorry. I meant people can have sex for pleasure without getting pregnant. Though omegas are at the highest risk because they're so fertile, especially in heat." - He explained, though some of that I already knew.
"I get it. I mean, I don't know how to have sex without getting pregnant but I know it's possible. We are tutored back at the camp, we're not ignorant folk with no education." - I explained to him in a serious tone.
"Good. Maybe if your friend gets mated to Lisa, he can become a warrior. She knows our Beta really well." - He snickered.
I can tell this is some kind of private joke because he's gigging, but I just ignore it.
"Really? Well, I don't want Chris to leave the camp. But I guess if he finds his mate, he'll have to. I know Elodie is gonna miss him so much." - I commented, sighing at the thought.
"Who's Elodie?" - Lisa parted from the kiss to ask him, suspiciously.
"My twin sister." - He replied, sincerely. Then, they got back to kissing.
"Is there any more cool stuff we're missing out on? Can pack wolves fly?" - I snickered.
"No, I think that about covers it. Though sometimes I kinda wish I could shut down my sense of smell." - Ben grimaced and for the first time ever, I can totally relate.
"Tell me about it. Your friend's stench is more powerful than my heat." - I scowled, being forced to scent his sexual attraction towards Tristan. Though the feeling is mutual, which is worse.
"I'm sorry for what happened to you, by the way. No omega should be in danger of being assaulted. I was very scared before Lex got his first heat, but fortunately it happened over the summer and he was medicated right away." - He spoke, empathizing.
"Thanks. I never felt so scared in my life. Not only for me but for momma too. If anything happened to her, I'd never forgive myself." - I said with a worried frown.
"Your mom sounds like a total badass!" - He complimented her, smiling.
"She is. She is not one to be messed with. Everybody at camp respects her." - I spoke, proudly.
"I'm sure. I hope to never get her angry side." - He snickered. I laughed.
"Speaking of which, guys we need to get back to camp. It's late, you can stop kissing now." - I declared, pausing their love sessions.
"Thank you for the gift. I really appreciate it." - I told him, who smiled at me.
"Of course. If I can be of any assistance, let me know." - He offered, humbly.
"Okay, thanks." - I'm baffled at this turn of events. I walked to grab my clothes and get dressed while the couples bid farewell.
Tristan and Christian came to get dressed too as the townies started walking away from us, waving goodbye.
In a moment, we filled our buckets - again - and walked back to camp. You couldn't find two happier boys on Earth. Though Christian takes the cake.
Considering he never had any female attention until now, I'm happy for him. I don't know how much time they have left to enjoy before she gets mated, but I hope to see her again.
He is my friend and I wish him to be happy, of course. As for the horny adult, he can have Lex. But he is definitely NOT his mate, so that'll be short lived.
And when it ends badly, I'll be here.
To remind him he should have stuck with me. Bitch!
"Who has sent you this gift?" - Momma quizzes me as soon as she sees me carrying it.
"It's not for me, it's for us. And it was the boy we met at the waterfalls. He was there again today." - I replied, sincerely.
She examines the care package and its contents. Some nice toiletries, perfume, stuff for the kids, even some fancy cookies.
"He said it was his momma who sent it." - I continued, as the rest of the women peaked at it too.
"There's a card inside." - Sarah announced, picking it up and reading out loud.
"If there's anything I can do to improve your stay, please let me know. Signed Alicia Livingstone, Luna, Crescent Moon pack." - She read and we're all gobsmacked at the revelation.
"Luna? Does that mean that boy is the son of the Alpha?" - I mumbled, nervously at the realization.
"That's exactly what it means!" - Momma replied in a sour mood.
"Why did you get involved with the son of the Alpha, boy?" - Pappa called me out, angrily.
"I didn't know who he was! I didn't ask him to meet me. I don't even like him!" - I defended myself, desperately.
"This is very dangerous, guys. Alphas can't be trusted. He could call his warriors to dispose of us." - Gabriel interjected, sounding worried.
Sophia was also concerned as was Joe.
"If they wanted to dispose of us they wouldn't be sending a gift basket." - Sarah rebuked, frowning at the assumption.
"I'm not saying I trust any Alpha, but maybe not everyone is out to get us." - She countered in a somber tone.
"Sure, Sarah. Or maybe they're just assessing us. Either way we're not gonna give them any reason to hunt us out of this land. If we leave now so close to the winter we're not gonna find a decent shelter by December." - Momma stated in a troubled tone.
As I said, she's not worried for her, pappa or me. She is concerned for Mark and Laura, who are 9 and 6, respectively.
And for Lizzie, Sarah's youngest. The rest of us can shift into wolves and protect ourselves with our fur, kids can't.
"We can't stop them from meeting us at the waterfalls. Especially now." - I argued, though I should probably have stayed quiet.
"Why especially now?" - Joe inquired, but all the adults stared at me.
I looked at Tristan and Christian for a response. They were both intimidated and shy.
"There's a girl who took a liking to Chris. And another omega - the one who invited us to the restaurant - who is infatuated with Tris." - I explained, deeply embarrassed.
"Now there's a girl too? This story just keeps getting better." - Elodie snickered, glancing at her brother who blushed.
"There's one other thing. Lex gave us all bathing suits so we could leave the river and keep our modesty." - I had to lay the cards on the table, it's not like I can keep this a secret.
Everybody stared at each other in surprise.
"I think it's safe to say that these townies aren't gonna leave the boys alone. If they're even giving presents now." - Sarah commented, looking at the boys.
"Not after that kiss..." - I muttered under my breath, shocking the hell out of everyone. The boys glared daggers at me.
"Who kissed whom?" - Gabriel practically shouted, wide-eyed. So was his partner.
"Thanks, Ali." - Tris murdered me with his death glare.
"She kissed me. Not that I complained." - Christian admitted, bashfully.
"Lex kissed me." - Tristan admitted, mortified to his parents.
"Oh my Goddess! It's much worse than we thought!" - Momma exclaimed, baffled at the turn of events.
"Momma, did you know we could speak using just our minds?" - I inquired, intrigued by the possibility.
"Yes, of course I know. But you need a pack for that. That's why we can't." - She replied, surprised by the question. As were all the adults.
"Wow! How much cool stuff we're missing out that you haven't told us about?" - Elodie spoke, surprised by this information.
"That's what I've said!" - Her brother yelled, ecstatically.
"There's no point in saying that to you guys if we're not part of a pack." - Their mom rolled her eyes, annoyed.
"Momma, can't you be our Alpha?" - I suggested, getting wide-eyed stares from the adults.
We begin to settle down for dinner, which is already late with all this commotion.
"No, Ali. We can't have one person ordering the others around, it's exactly why we escaped the pack life. Plus, you need to be born of an Alpha to become one, usually." - She declined, laughing at my suggestion.
"Man, it would be so cool to speak without words." - I commented, sighing.
"You're already speaking plenty, Ali. Maybe shut up a bit." - Tristan jabbed at me in a snarky tone.
"Hey, it's not my fault you're mesmerized by that Lex. Even though he ain't your mate." - I shot back, not backing down.
"Neither are you." - He rolled his eyes.
"I know." - I grunted, angrily.
"Is she pretty?" - Elodie asked her brother, giddy.
"Oh yes, she's gorgeous! And she told me if I were to be her mate, I could take my GED and become a warrior." - He replied, excitedly.
"Wow! That's a lot of talking! Already discussing the future? Are you just gonna abandon your family like that?" - His father snapped, staring him down.
Chris lowered his head embarrassed.
"I wouldn't want to abandon anyone. But I can't forsake my mate, pappa." - He replied in almost a whisper, ashamed. Though he has no reason to be.
"She's not your mate, son. Don't delude yourself with a dream." - He shot down, causing Chris to cry.
"I know she is too good for me! You don't need to waste your breath telling me that." - He said, sobbing. He got up from the table and left camp, devastated.
"Was that really necessary?" - Elodie asked her father, angered.
"Way to ruin your son's first kiss! Great parenting!" - She snapped at him.
There were a lot of discussions being done at the dinner table between family members. Christian skipped dinner, which is unlike him.
By the time he returned to camp, emotional, I had managed to save him some meat so he wouldn't starve. Poor boy. He didn't deserve that.
He is entitled to have his day, to have his kiss. And I for one am totally rooting for him.
Maybe she is his mate. Maybe he'll be the last boy she'll ever kiss, for the rest of time.
