The goddess Yue had escaped from the godly realm and fled to a lonely human village to stay in hiding. 

Taking on a fake identity and form, she was devoted to taking care of and raising her twin daughters, to keep them safe. From anything that would want to harm them.. 

The years went by.. Yue raised her daughters in the village. She was friendly to the villagers and they were friendly to her. She was careful to not show any of her powers in the public eye, As the village despised all magic..

She would secretly perform her godly duties during the nights, always remaining out of sight of her old lover, the sun.

One evening, Yue was outside her home. Tending to the flowers in the garden. The door to their home was quickly opened As her now 3 year old daughters ran outside to her. 

"Mommy mommy!" The older twin Yuna yelled out. Dragging her sister, Yoru with her by her hand. "Mommy look what Yoru can do!" 

Yuna pointed at her sister. The younger twin Yoru held something cupped in her hands.. Yue felt herself grow anxious.. and took a closer look.. it was magic. Dark magic.. 

Yue quickly grabbed the two girls and took them inside. Shutting the door behind them, and quickly covering the windows. 

Yue sat down and gently held her daughters hands. "How did you do that" she asked. Her voice serious and stern but trying to sound calm. 

"Um. I-i don't know"

Yoru answered and looked down. 

Yue sighed.. trying to not panic. It was an accident..

"I see.. but. You both have to promise me, Never tell or show anyone this. Ok?" 

The girls nodded, not understanding what was wrong, but they did as their mother said. Yue smiled gently and hugged the girls. "I'll get started on dinner"

Another swift year passed by, and Yue's worries grew, and so did the powers of Yuna and Yoru. Every night before bed, Yue made sure to teach the girls to keep their powers under control. The twins had both inherited Yue's power to manipulate the dreams of mortals.. although, Yoru's power seemed to grow beyond that, into something darker.

But this wouldn't change much. Yoru was Her beloved daughter, it didn't matter if she had inherited the dark and demonic power of the shadow god. Yue vowed to love and protect both her daughters no matter how their powers turned out. 

But.. despite Yue's attempts at teaching Yoru to control her dark powers, and even attempting to suppress the power.. the dark magic in Yoru's soul kept sneaking out.. and affecting the dreams of those around.. first it wasn't so clear, the livestock of the villagers nearby had started mysteriously Ill and died. Yue often saw wild animals dead in the forest.. exactly in the same state as the others, blank empty eyes.. 

And soon, the cause became clear. Children and elderly in the villagers had started falling Ill as well. Their eyes slowly being drained of life in the night. 

Yue knew what the cause was, but she wanted to believe she was wrong.. but her fear was true. The same night one of the village children died, Yoru's eyes were pitch black. Like a dark and empty void.. 

The demonic magic in her had affected Yoru's dream powers. And now, she was giving everyone around her horrific nightmares that would slowly but surely destroy their souls. 

Yue held her daughter tightly in her arms, this innocent child had no control, and did not know what she was doing. But her mother knew too well, exactly how this was only going to get worse for them..

It did not take long for the villagers to grow suspicious, some had seen Yue out in the forest singing in the moonlight, but had disregarded it as nothing. But now, now the villagers were collecting evidence, reasons to attack the strange witch who appeared a couple years ago, they were going to kill the witch in revenge for their deceased children.

And as If things simply had to get worse. 

The scouts of the sun god had heard the rumors. 

The rumors of the beautiful witch dancing in the moonlight, and killing people in their dreams. 

And loyal to the god, the scouts wasted no time telling the sun god of the rumors. 

Solar was enraged, he had known this would happen from the start. But his foolish lover had run away to protect the child, and now it was killing everything around it.

He had to do something, he thought. But attempting to kill the child himself would surely have Yue attack him back, he hated the thought of her fighting him to protect the wretched thing. 

As much as he despised it, The child was a god. and only a god can kill another god. But then, he had an idea. The cruel god chuckled to himself. He simply had to give one of those wretched humans the ability to kill the child, and with the wretched thing gone, perhaps Yue would come back crying for forgiveness and comfort.. the god decided to set his plan in motion.

One bright and sunny day, a messanger of the sun god entered the village. The messanger informed the villagers they had to kill the demon with a blade made of the sun. Or else, it would only return for revenge. As the villager gasped in shock and fear, a piece of the sun fell. A bright and beautiful golden sword had laned in the ground. The villagers now had what they needed, to permanently kill a god. 

Yue had caught eye of the messanger and she knew something would happen.. she had secretly followed in a magical disguise... She knew what would happen, someone would die today. Yue did not know any other option.

It was sunset, Yue quickly packed necessities into two small bags, and once finished she looked at her daughters. And hopelessly fell to her knees, she hugged her daughters tightly before looking them both  in the eyes. Yue was doing her best not to cry. 

These sweet, confused little girls, they had no idea what was going on or what would happen. But Yue knew all too well, solar bask would not give up until a god died tonight.. But Yue was not gonna let it be the god Solar bask wished it would be.. the blade solar bask had given the villagers would break after a single use. Yue knew who would have to die. 

Yue gently kissed her children's foreheads and gave them the bags, before giving them very important instructions. "Run as far as you can at night. Don't talk to anybody. Don't wait for me. Just go as far away as possible. And when it's sunrise, you hide and rest. And once the sun goes down. You continue Walking.. never look back. I love you so much"

Yue hugged her daughters tightly one last time before she told them to run. Confused and afraid, the children did as their mother instructed, they ran away, into the forest. 

The moment Yue had lost sight of the girls disappearing into the woods, She let out a heavy sigh. And right after so, the door was smashed open, and the villagers begun their violent attack. Yue's godly status protected her from their mortal attacks and human made weapons, but then. There was the blade.. the golden blade was swiftly stabbed into Yue's chest. She gasped for air as she took some steps back... before then falling onto the ground. And she whispered something very, very quietly... before she was gone.

The second Yue's life came to an end. The villagers felt the earth shake as the clear night skies thundered loudly As a beacon of light shot up from the corpse.. hitting the moon. As it hit. The moon cracked and broke into halves.. the goddess of the moon was now two.. 

Yue was no more..

And the little girls were now walking all by themselves in the forest.. with no idea how their lives had now been changed.
