The Next Day

“Hey guys, when do you all want to go to the mall?” Mina poked her head out of the bathroom. “Hmm maybe at lunch so we can all get some grub before we go.” Mei yelled back.

 "And maybe I can get some training in, I better go now and I should be done by lunchtime."

Mei scratched her chin. “Alright guys I’ll be back, I'm going to take a jog outside.” The red head waved bye and closed the door. “No wonder she’s so fit, she works out everyday. So manly!” Kirishima started to tear up. “I aspire to be like her! Hey bakubro, come spot me on the bench press!” Kiri jogged to his room. “Fine shitty hair.” Bakugou followed in slow pursuit. Meanwhile, Mei reached the P.E. grounds. “Phew, that was a nice warm-up jog!” She walked in and started stretching. “Alrighty then, let’s get fired up!” She ran towards the training dummies that Cementoss had made for the girl to train her quirk with. Five minutes later and she had half of the dummies down. After she got all the dummies down, she would leave and come back the next day. In record time she had torn the dummies down. “What time is it?” Mei looked at the watch on her wrist that her brother Touya had left behind as a gift to her. “I still have time for a shower, if I hurry back.” Mei ran back to the dorm rooms and Mei quickly showered and dressed for the day. Mei wore a short sleeve hoodie with a color block hood , color blocked cargo pants, a nice pair of black sneakers, and a few accessories to tie the outfit together, her favorite being a star charm bracelet. “I’m done. Now to wait for everyone else.” Mei walked outside her room,and sat on the couch, and turned the television on. “BREAKING NEWS” the T.V. blared. “There has been a villain by the name of dabi spotted near-” Mei turned the channel to a cartoon. “No villain is going to ruin my day.” Little by little people started joining the girl on the couch watching a silly little cartoon. ”Alright, everyone ready?” Mei stood up and clapped her hands together. “Everyone is here and accounted for.” Iida said, swinging his hands around in his usual karate chop motion. “Then let’s head out!” Mei and Midoriya said synchronously. When they got to the mall, they split into teams of seven Mei with Bakugou, Kirishima, Shoto, Midoriya, Ochako, and Sero. “See you guys later.” Sero waved to the other classmates as each group went separate ways. “Hey guys, do ya think we could stop by the bathrooms?” Mei said, tapping Sero on the shoulder.Sero turned around. “Sure Mei.”

 “Has anyone told you and Todoroki look alike?” Ochako asked. “Oh heh I guess we do huh..” Mei looked down while rubbing the back of her neck. Mei saw a figure that she’d seen many times up to this point ducking behind a pillar. “What the hell?” She Immediately looked behind her and turned her head to face forward again. “Hey guys I think someone’s watching us.” Mei scratched her head and started walking a little quicker. “It’s probably some dumbass extras, don’t worry about it.” Bakugou was reassuring Mei? ..That’s a first. “Speaking of, we don’t know you’re first name you just told us your last.” Sero flicked his lollipop out of his mouth and looked at the girl with curiosity. “No, that’s an abbreviation of my first name.” Shezumei said covering her mouth towards the end. “Do you not like your first name? Why don’t you tell us.” Kirishima leaned towards Mei “Since the cat is out of the bag my full first name is Shezumei. My last name will remain a mystery for now” she quickly glanced at Shoto and back to Hanta. “Your name is so pretty!” Ochako started bouncing about. Shezumei bumped into someone. “I’m so sorry, I should’ve watched where I was going!” She picked up the strangers bag that had fallen on the floor as they collided. “Yeah, you should be, kid. If I wasn’t so nice you could’a got hurt.” He looked at everyone around her and left. “That was weird… wonder what his deal is.” The stranger looked at his bag. “Fuck if they noticed me we’re done for. Never thought I’d miss anyone.” A blonde haired girl walked up to the man. “Who do you miss, Da-“ he cut her off “don’t say my name you’ll get us caught dumbass.” The girl snickered in response. “Then I guess you’ll tell me your real name then.” He walked off, scoffing. “No thanks.. I like your hairstyle.” The blonde haired girl lightly tapped her foot. “I don’t! I need it in buns!” Back with the students, Shezumei sat in her room going through the things she’d bought, putting them on her bed to be organized after. There was a knock at her door. She answered the door, and it was Sero. “Hello? Come in, I was just emptying out my shopping bag.” The boy walked in. “Whoa, your room is so cool!” Sero looked around a bit more. “..And clean.” he added. “What can I help you with?” She continued to put away her things. “Oh, so I was thinking and I can't get over the fact that I don’t know literally anything about you.” Sero sat down at Mei’s desk. “Well, after my quirk developed my dad deemed my quirk useless and dangerous so I was never really allowed to use it. Not to mention America likes to pretend quirks don’t exist so they give classes teaching us how to hide our quirks. I grew up in a big dysfunctional family. My brother died in a fire, and now I’m here back in Japan where 90% of my trauma is.” Mei sat on her bed with a sigh towards the end, happy to get that off her chest. “90%?” Sero tilted his head like a puppy. “I was bullied for being Japanese.” Mei grabbed a hair tie from her desk and tied up her hair. “Damn, did anything good ever happen?” Sero asked. “Yeah, I met my best friend in the whole world… One time I met All Might! He was in my town since he kinda travels, and I was upset because I was getting bullied, and he took the corners of his mouth and smiled. That’s when I knew everything would be ok. That’s when I knew I was going to become a hero.” She put her fingers to the corners of her mouth and she mimicked the hero's signature smile. Hanta tried to do it as well but his smile was a bit wonky. They laughed and told funny stories for a while until the black haired boy decided to leave. “Hey, how about we hang out more often? You're pretty cool Shezumei.” Mei looked at Sero. “Let’s stick with Mei for now, even in America everyone called me Mei.” She closed her door behind the boy and sat on her bed. She lit a small blue flame on her arm. “I’m making friends brother..” Mei pulled the covers over her legs and lied down to sleep. 

“Zoomie, do you want to come play in the woods?” A small white haired boy patted his crying sister on the head. “It’s ok, I’m just like you! But that means we can do anything we want! Tell her T.” A shadow figure walked up to the girl. “If I wasn’t so… Hurt…” the figure went up in blue flames. “TOUYA!” The young girl jumped into the flames. Shezumei woke up in a sweat and Uraraka, Shoto, and Sero stood around her. “Mei, are you okay? You were screaming someone’s name.” Uraraka asked in confusion, never hearing that name. “What was I saying?” Shezumei looked down at her legs hoping she wasn’t screaming about anyone in her dream. “Shezumei, you said Touya..” Shoto replied hesitantly. She pulled her covers off and bowed down. “I’m really sorry for my sudden outburst, I had a nightmare.” She stood up and pushed everyone from her room. When she heard the click of the door closing, she muttered one word. “Shit..”
