Julia and Tobias walked through the very open church and Tobias was amazed at the sight of it all. Julia on the other hand was very happy to see the church in real life; true to the descriptions in the book it was gorgeous. There were plenty of nuns and priests going about their daily lives, caring for the church and the orphans that live there.
Before the children could truly take in the sight, they were led down a hall that was tucked away from the view of normal members. At the end of this hall lied a great big blue iron gate that was locked, one of the priests took a key ring from his sleeve and opened the door.
Once he was done, he handed the key ring to Julia, “This is your personal key my lady. Please do not lose it, we don’t want it to fall into the wrong hands,” he said before leaving
Julia bowed and took the key and put it in her dress pockets. Once Julia opened the doors she was met with the hurtful sight of shelves upon shelves go books. The shelves reached as high as the ceilings and there were ladders and whole lofts to even get to the books.
Tobias was so happy to be in a library he almost ran off and forgot the whole reason why they were there, that is, until Julia grabbed his collar and pulled him aside, “Before you run off Tobi, please keep in mind we need books on the serpent and just whatever you can find.”
“Yeah yeah, okay bye!” Tobias ran off.
Julia, now by herself, went to look around the library. She enjoyed the sight of all the books she could read. Even though the books weren’t fiction novels, she still was happy to learn more about the world of her favorite novel. Julia bagged to pick out any book that was remotely related to the goddess and divine beasts. Once she had her stack, Julia went to go find a table to place her stuff down. Just a few ways away from her, Julia found a table off to the side; once she placed her books down, she heard a small noise followed by a louder noise.
THUD!
Julia, now worried, went to go investigate. Not far somewhere she was she found a large pile of books on the floor and their shelf empty and another noise coming from under the pile of books.
“Ouch!” A girl came out of the pile rubbing the top of her head, “that’s the second time today…” she cried.
The girl got up from the pile and began to put away the books. Julia was just captured by the sight of her. The girl was no younger than 16 and had gorgeous pink eyes, and shining long pink hair just had Julia memorized.
Finally, the girl turned around and met Julia’s gaze, “AH!” She jumped, dropping the books she had in her hands, “who are you?” She asked.
“Oh, uh, I’m Julia,” she shuddered.
The girl immensely ran up to her with, “THE JULIA?! The soon-to-be empress??? Oh my!” the girl almost sent herself into a spiral.
Julia giggled, “ I guess so? I’m not sure if I’m that famous.”
The girl sat up and smacked her own cheeks, “I’m sorry this is my first time meeting a noble, not many come in here.”
“It's alright, but uh, what’s your name?” Julia asked.
The girl gave a warm smile with her sparkling pink eyes “My name is Sarafina, but everyone calls me Fia, I’m the caretaker of this library.”
Holy shit…
