The True Colours of an Empire_Ch:1_Dragonborn 11
A hum so intense covers the whole area this time. Its intensity causes almost all of the small objects to fall on the ground.
"I. Will. F***ing. KILL YOU! HER LIFE WILL BE AVENGED WITH YOUR BLOOD, YOU F***ING BASTARD!!!" His screams of rage shake up the entire alleyway.
Closing her eyes, Iriel places her hands on the female slave’s torso. They begin to glow, with a bright yellow aura around them. As soon as she hears a heartbeat in her ears, she looks at her opponent, "Stop! She is still alive!"
Seeing Drachma raising his weapon to deliver a final killing blow, Meadow’s eyes nearly pop out. He screams out to the slave, "She is still alive! We have magic to heal her! But he is just going to kill her if you don't stop!"
The ground starts rumbling. The very town shakes up so violently with an intense wave of power that it seems to be an earthquake to the town’s people.
"LIERS! MY SISTER IS DEAD!" Screams back the rage-filled slave.
"Listen!" Meadow uses a spell and plays the sound of the female slave’s heartbeat in the ears of her angry brother. It immediately calms the man down. Falling to the ground, he starts weeping at the idea of his sister still being alive. Drachma stabs the stone on the floor next to the head of his near victim.
"Drachma, cuff them up. You went too far. I will make sure to let them know that you nearly killed this female slave." Iriel stares at half-burned-down Drachma.
"And be sure to let them know how much you helped as well." leaning against the wall, slump Drachma starts to focus on his breathing as this was the first event in a long time of action.
Meadow grabs the cuff from Drachma's bag. Everyone who is present witnesses the previous warlord laughing to himself as he watches the bleeding slave girl lying on the floor, half dead.
Walking over to the slave sitting on the floor, Meadow cuffs his hands. The cuffs are made of black crystal. Its clicking is the tolling that indicates the end of the conflict. Looking at the male up close, Meadow could see the burn marks on his lower jaw. That part is still healing.
Iriel uses her magical abilities to run a heartbeat check-up on Eliel. “It's faint, but it's still there. The armour needs to be taken off in order for the healing magic to work."
The guards of Vada arrive there to see the current state of the affair. The captain-general, wearing his shining armour, comes forward cutting through the group of soldiers. He removes his helmet, revealing an olive-skinned male with lots of marks on his face.
"What happened here?"
Iriel, while trying to figure out how to remove Eliel’s armour, answers, "We encountered these people and are to bring them back to the capital to face the consequences of their actions."
As Iriel can’t touch the sizzling hot armour with her bare hands, she becomes puzzled trying to think of a way to take it off of Eliel’s body. Seeing the young girl so puzzled, the captain-general reaches down to help. His hands start glowing as a faint golden light covers them, like a protective shield. Then he touches the hot metal with his bare hands as if he didn’t feel the temperature at all. The hot metal is removed from the young man's body with his very skin sticking to it. Peeling it off, they could make out the faintest of breaths being taken by Eliel.
Iriel places her hands on the melted skin of the injured young man. His body is still very hot to the touch. Fighting through the heat of his body, Iriel begins to rearrange Eliel's skin, placing all the pieces back where it once was. The skin has become rough like charcoal and flakes are coming off as she moves around his body. The eyes of the man crack open. His burnt skin cracks and pops out as he attempts to move his limbs.
