Jack licked my right ear and whispered, "It's all good. You don't have to cry. You are now at home." I hadn't even noticed, but I was actually crying. I stepped back and drove my right paw over my snout. I was a bit dizzy because of the sudden memory and all the feelings but luckily I didn't tip over. I tried to say something but didn't make a sound. I made another attempt and asked Jack in a weak voice, "How are you? Where is Nicola? And Vanessa?" Jack laughed and said in a disappointed voice, "But you don't forget Vanessa and Nicola?" I also had to smile and replied: "They're just funnier! Of course, I haven't forgotten you as the only one! I have forgotten all of you for whatever reason and hope that never happens again." He nudged me with a paw and said, "Of course. And to answer your question, I'm fine now that you're here. Vanessa and Nicola are in their hut behind our big rock and are currently teaching a few children and young people about the forest and its inhabitants. Together with Sonya and Leo, of course, since they are still teenagers. Sascha is also with them, in case you were wondering. We can visit them briefly if you want." He trotted over to the old tree and called out to Corvo: "We quickly go to Sonja, Leo, Vanessa and Nicola. Are you coming along?" Corvo looked at Jael and Arika questioningly and both nodded happily. As I turned back into a human being, Arika jumped off the tree and transformed in the middle of the jump while Jael flew down and transformed back on the ground. Jack ran ahead and Corvo flew over him. Arika, Jael and I followed them. We walked around the stone and saw an old-fashioned little wooden cabin with a fenced front yard. The fence was made of thin sawn tree trunks, from which the bark was peeled off. We walked through an old-fashioned, woody garden gate and walked along a path lined with flowers. On the right stood an old-fashioned fountain surrounded by fruit trees. I felt like I had traveled through time and ended up in the Middle Ages. The cottage was round and had a crooked roof of twigs, hay and thin, black stone slabs. Probably slate. In front of the door hung two candles, but they did not burn. Next to the left candle hung a rope. Corvo pulled it down and a small bell rang in the house. Corvo cleverly opened the small round window in the door and flew inside. Jack meant us to wait, went to the right and disappeared behind the house. Shortly thereafter, the door opened and Nicola appeared in the door frame with Corvo on his shoulder. He looked about the same age as Jael and I did, but it still took me a moment to recognize him. Now I also saw that on his other shoulder sat his tame otter Miro. Miro stood on his hind paws and greeted us cheerfully. Nicola stepped aside and put us in. Instead of leading us into the living room, he pointed to a staircase to his left and whispered, "Go up and change your clothes. No one is allowed to see you in these clothes. We left your rooms as you left them." When we were almost at the top, he called out to us afterwards: "Nice to see you again." We went to our rooms and I was almost startled when I opened the closet and saw the clothes in it. They were more or less just skirts. In addition, all the garments were in my size. I didn't know how that could be, as supposedly nothing was changed in our rooms. I took a blue blouse, black pants and some white wool socks out of the closet and changed my clothes. I looked in the mirror hanging in the closet and noticed that there were a few branches hanging in my hair. I took a wooden brush out of the dresser and tried to brush the branches out of my hair. Out of an instinct, I took off my glasses and carefully pushed the lenses out of the frame. I opened a small drawer in the bedside table next to the bed and pulled out a beautiful wooden glasses frame. I gently pushed the glasses in and was amazed to see that the glasses fit into the frame, and the frame fit me. When I came out of my room, the door of Arika's room was open and I heard Arika whimpering inside. I ran as fast as I could to her room at the other end of the aisle. When I looked in, I breathed a sigh of relief. Jael was just about to braid Arika a few pretty ruby beads in her hair. Jael herself had crystal clear crystal beads in her hair. When Jael noticed me, she looked up and asked, "Should I give you a new hairstyle afterwards? I know you don't like it that way when others make you a new hairstyle or even just brush your hair. That's why you usually have short hair. But now they would be just long enough to weave them back together. I'm sure in your dresser there are also some nice beads for your hair. She was right. There were various pearls in my chest of drawers. There were lapis lazuli and sapphires, black pearls, which are very rare, and tanzanite. When Jael was done with Arika's hairstyle, she braided me a beautiful hairstyle with the sapphires. When my hairstyle was also finished, we went down to the living room. Many young people our age sat on three sofas and listened to the words of Vanessa and Nicola. Miro sat on the table and nibbled on a treat. When we came in, some looked over at us and Vanessa stopped talking. Nicola got up and came up to us. He turned to the others and said, "These are Jael, Arika and Anilec. You're just coming back from a long journey through the wilderness of this world. Leo came out of the kitchen and hugged us to greet us. Sonja came after him and said, "Nice to see you. I hope you stay for dinner. There is deer today. You like that so much, don't you?" We couldn't help but agree. Leo meant to come to the kitchen with him and Sonja while Vanessa and Nicola resumed their lessons. Sonja showed us what else we could do. We washed our fingers in the well behind the house and then started to wash, prepare and cut the vegetables from the garden. When the vegetables were ready, we prepared and cut onions and cooked them lightly over the fire. Then the deer meat came diced into the pan and the vegetables were hung in a large pot over a fire. While the food was cooking, we took the dishes out of the cupboards and started to set the table. When the lessons were finished, we went with Sonja and Nicola to take the children and young people to the edge of the forest, where their parents were already waiting for them. When everyone was with their parents, we went back and ate. The food was delicious and there was something for everyone. ack and Corvo got a bone with a lot of meat on it to share. I could suddenly remember my last meal on this table. I mean to my last meal at this table. Arika still snaked just as fast as she did then and Jael picked individual pieces of vegetables out of her plate just like she used to. I also remembered that this evening it smelled the same as it did then, the vegetables were cut exactly the same irregularly and Sonja had again taken the biggest pieces for herself, as then. When everyone was done eating, we helped with the dishes and then went back with Corvo and Jack. In the rock behind the waterfall was still the cave, which Jael, Arika and I enlarged and "expanded". Arika walked next to Jack in cat form and couldn't wait to see the old cave again. After a while we finally arrived in the large "main room", which was located directly under the lake. We all turned back into people and sat on the soft, self-sewn and self-made armchairs and noticed that our dogs had already fallen asleep on the large sofa. Jack tried to lie down next to Blue, but immediately changed his mind when Blue growled at him. Instead, he sat down on a large brown armchair, which stood directly opposite mine. Above our heads, the pack, ready to hunt, could be heard shouting when Jack began to speak: "You look tired and need to rest. You need all your strength tomorrow if you want to catch something. So now lie down to bed. It's all still as you left it." He got up and went up to his pack. Jael turned on the hotspot and wrote to her family that she was staying with a friend today. Anilec wrote the same thing to her parents. After that, everyone went to their rooms. I fell asleep in her loft bed almost immediately. I woke up in a castle not far from the edge of the forest, where today we handed over the children to their parents. There was someone in front of me who spoke to someone else and then looked directly at me...
