It was quite late at night. Muskan had finished all her pending work and was all set to go home. After closing the office, she drove in her car, on the way back home.
Muskan was the executive manager of an online store startup company, which became famous and grew a lot in its early days. When she was in college, impressed by her skills, one of her seniors offered to recruit her for his startup. Even before completing college, she started working as a part-timer in this company. She has grown her career along with this company.
On reaching midway home, she got a call from Kareena. Urvi was on the other side of the call. She said that Kareena had drunk a lot that she was not in a condition to go home alone and that she should accompany her.
"Okay okay. You send me the address, I'll come. You bring her to the parking lot. I’ll meet you there." Muskan was afraid that she might bump into Jai. But still, because of that fear, she could not leave her only friend unattended in that condition. She took a turn from the next U-turn towards the location of the reunion.
“Ted! Please take out the car. Meet me at the parking lot with the car.” Jay was tired of the party. He was not a party-lover person but still came today with the hope of meeting her. Anyway, he got what he wanted and there was no reason to stay any longer.
Jay quietly left from there without informing anyone at the party. Outside at the parking lot, he saw Urvi holding Kareena, who looked very drunk.
"Urvi?" Someone called her from behind. Jay was standing behind when she turned back.
"Are you alright? Need any help?" He asked Urvi, who was handling Kareena alone.
"No, it's alright. It's just that she drank a little too much."
"If you don't mind, I'll drop you both."
"No! No! No need for that. It's not the first time. She always does this so I'm used to it. I've called a taxi for it. And I'll wait a little longer at the party. But why are you leaving so early?"
Urvi suddenly panicked. She had a fear in her mind that if somehow Jay met Muskan, then the distance between them might be reduced and they’d come back together.
She lied. This was the first time Kareena was out of control while drinking. She was angered by the fact that Jay showed himself after becoming AWOL after so many years. And he asked about Muskan, shamelessly. Urvi used this chance to aggravate her and make her drunk.
"Yeah. I wasn't feeling well. Are you sure you don't need any help?" Urvi nodded her head. And then Jay's car also came, so he sat in it and left.
Sitting in the car, he started doing some of his office work on his tablet. At the venue exit, suddenly Jay had this strange feeling. His heartbeat quickened, and he felt restless. Seeing him put his hand on his heart and looking outside, Ted panicked and stopped the car.
"What happened, sir?"
The year 2011
Jay was sitting on his desk with earphones on, during a break. He was busy studying. He was completely oblivious to everyone who passed by him, also because he could not hear anything because of the earphones.
While studying he had this strange sensation in his heart and he turned his head suddenly towards the door. And there he saw Muskan standing with a sandwich and juice for him. She was smiling so brightly that the sun rays in the class seemed dim.
“How did you know it was me?” Young Muskan asked the boy staring at her with keen eyes that were filled with love.
“I just know. How and why, even I don’t know. There’s no logic, only love.” Young Jay replied with a simper on his lips. They both smiled at each other happily.
Back to reality
When Muskan was near the party venue, she called Urvi and asked her to come out along with Kareena. After a while when she reached the venue, she started getting nervous. But for Kareena, he gave himself courage and with the help of Urvi got down and made Kareena sit in the car.
"Hi Muskan, how are you? We're seeing each other after so many years, my friend! Why don't you come to any of the reunions? Many people ask about you." Urvi hugged Muskaan without her permission as if she had been waiting for her for ages.
"Yes. It's been a long time. I don't come because I’m busy. Nice to meet you Urvi but I should leave now. Have to take Kareena." Freeing herself from the unwanted forced hug, Muskan quickly left with Kareena in her car.
"Thank god! Jay left already. What would have happened if they met?" Urvi sighed with relief. She was happy because the moment Muskan feared the most did not happen.
"What happened, sir?" Ted panicked and parked the car at the side.
“I don’t know. Suddenly…” He stopped midway. The moment he turned his head, a car passed by them and he saw a glimpse of someone he was dying to meet. He asked Ted to follow that car. But unfortunately, due to a rally procession that came in between them, they lost contact with that vehicle.
Jay was sure it was Muskan but Ted thought his boss had gone insane. But Ted was unaware of the power of love.
Jay was correct. The person driving the car was indeed Muskan, who left the party venue as soon as she picked Kareena. No matter what anyone said, Jai's soul knew that, even if his eyes deceived him, his heart would never lie. He felt from his heart that the person who passed by was no one else but Muskan. He once again saw his love passing through his eyes, but could not do anything to meet her.
“Ugh! My head is spinning!” Kareena woke up from her deep sleep with a headache. The moment she woke up, Muskan entered the room with soup.
“What happened? How did I come home last night?”
