"Jasmine.......I.....can expla......"
Jasmine felt weak, she couldn't believe the audacity that Miles had to do all this when she was the one who did everything for him.
She laid the world at his feet, "In our bed Miles." she let out.
"Jasmine you not here and I know I made a mis...................."
"Shut up Miles! Shut your stupid trap up! You disgust me beyond words, you can't even make up a better excuse to me as to why you are cheating but you want to pass the blame on me, you bastard!
I work day in and day out for you to use my money, my money Miles on other girls huh? You are pathetic, no wonder you kept me around, so I could carry on being your slave? So this is why you never bothered to ask for my hand in marriage. You are just a pig!"
"Jasmine I didn't mean for it to be this way, give me a chance to explain."
"How long have you two been sleeping together?"
"Does that even matte...."
"HOW LONG MILES? ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!"
"Six months," Miles replied sheepishly.
Jasmine let out a gust of air she felt as if someone had punched her in the gut. "So the same bed we use is the same bed you have been..." Jasmine could finish the sentence as she let out a cry of anguish.
Jasmine turned to the girl, "I know you and you knew me. Are you happy now? I hope you are. You can have this piece of trash as you both deserve each other."
Jasmine turned around, before she could head out Miles's voice spoke out, "Jasmine please calm down, we can talk later. Where will you go?"
"Anywhere but here."
Jasmine had a whole lot more to say but the pain made her so numb that she didn't want to say nor look at Miles anymore. She walked out the door even though she heard Miles calling after her.
She went outside and climbed into Julian's car and she saw a shirtless Miles running after her as she pulled out. She looked outside and the tears wouldn't come no matter how she felt.
"Where do you want to go?" Julian asked.
"Drop me off at the strip club."
"Are you sure?" Julian asked.
"Just drop me off okay and quit asking me so many questions!"
Julian did as she asked and she went back to her other work, she bought some liquor and when nighttime came she worked at the strip club. When it was one in the morning Jasmine headed out and instead of going back home for the first time she spent money to be dropped off at a lake with her package of alcohol.
She got out of the car and started to walk down the path that leads to the clearing and she saw that the moon was out. She sat on the edge and took out bottles of liquor.
She drank more than ever, and she screamed her lungs out. She turned sluggishly when she heard someone sit next to her, and saw that it was Julian.
"Why are you here!" Jasmine yelled.
"I needed to see that you are safe Jasmine, I was worried about you."
"Worried? Is that why you told me about Miles?"
"No Jasmine it's that......"
"Do you know how hurt and humiliated I am! Why did you have to involve yourself in my business? Did I ask you to Julian? Why couldn't you just let me be? Let me live in oblivion."
"You deserve better Jasmine that's why I did it."
Jasmine felt a lump in her throat, she didn't cherish herself that's why she wasted so much time with Miles. How was he going to cherish her when she didn't cherish or know her own self-worth?
"I worked like a dog Julian and I put him first...." Jasmine gasped and all the tears she had been holding in came flooding down her face.
"Tell me..." Julian replied.
And Jasmine did, she let him know how hurt she was and she drowned her sorrow in liquor. Julian took off his blazer and put it around her. He drew her in and held her in his arms.
