Once again, an arm was looped around Selena to pull her back into the chaos.
"Sorry yourself, are you going to let her make you that drink now?”, said a male voice.
Selena looked up and recognized him, she had seen him recently. He was not the one who had dragged her in there or one of the ones that had taken a shot at her. Selena almost smiled with relief, but she couldn't quite place him.
" I'm Rowan, party... Drink mixer... Remember now?", he smiled.
Realization hit her and an unstoppable, "Ohh", came out.
"Yeah "
"I was just going to leave actually"
"Well now I guess you don't get to since you’re hanging out with her," He spoke naturally through the music where Selena had to strain her voice to speak over it. The kid didn't miss a beat either, he was a pretty smooth talker.
Laughing she shot back, “Oh, and how can you make that decision?"
"My house My rules”, he smirked.
"This is your house?"
"Mines two doors down. It's close enough."
"Nice try"
"We could hang out there if you don't want to stay here," he wasn't letting it go.
"Is there anyone else there?", a barely known guy plus an empty house made Selena feel uneasy.
"My sister would have to let us in."
It seemed weird and Selena was going to say no until she realized she missed being around her friends. He did not seem to have anything wrong with him. Mulling it over she agreed to go," Okay I will go, but only for a little."
He led Selena out the back door, through the fence at the side of the house, and to the sidewalk. Rowan’s house had a quaint stone path to a blue front door.
Rowen knocked three times on the door, "Kris open the door!"
Light footsteps thumped on the other side and the door was pulled open.
