Ezra had to scope out the entire building, which meant the bathrooms too. Drinking all that champagne only helped his cause. Recalling off the blueprints he already pulled, there was only one door he couldn't go through because he was sure there would be the cameras on the other side that he wouldn't be able to dodge. The door that led to the holding or backroom the building had for when it was changing out art showings.
It only took about two minutes of Ezra's absence for other alpha's to take note of Jin. They had taken note of him well in the evening but had hung back because Ezra was next to him. Jin paid no mind to the approaching alpha as he moved to the next piece, his arms folded over the front of his chest lightly.
"Mighty brave of him to leave you alone like this." Hissed the alpha, "Unmarked too."
By unmarked, he was taking note of there being no bond, or bite on the base of Jin's neck. The nape of his neck was slightly exposed above the collar of his dress shirt.
Jin ignored him as he eyed the painting.
He knew how most viewed omega's. They were the weaker sex. The sex that couldn't do anything for themselves and always needed some big strong alpha to protect them. Jin has never liked this view put on him. He's always had a knack to stand up for himself, part of why when it came to his work he demanded to be the one in control. To make the alpha's the lesser sex. Heath thus far has been the only real exception to that rule of his. The only alpha he truly found himself to be afraid of. Always hesitant in his actions with him where others he didn't think so hard about. Still, everything Jin did was a calculated move. He didn't get the privilege of fucking up and getting a do-over.
"Oh, I see." Huffed the alpha as he dug into his back pocket. "I know who you are." He spoke again, pulling out a billfold.
Then stepped closer, close enough to cause the hair on the back of Jin's neck to stand up.
"You're from that club, what's the name. . . White Swallow." The alpha let out a heavy breath, "Money." He commented as he attempted to touch the side of Jin's cheek with his heavy hand, but Jin pulled away, stepping and turning to face him finally. Even in a place that held actual talent and grace, he was still approached as if he was sitting at the bar at work. He was property even here. Something that could be bought.
"Oh, don't play coy with me." He stepped closer, this time pushing his scent out, clouding Jin with a haze of lemongrass and oak. "What's your going rate, huh?"
"Umm, you wanna back up off my date." Commented Ezra from behind Jin.
Jin was startled at the sudden bass that came from behind him but happy to hear that voice as well. Still caught off guard at the quick approach from the male, thinking how could he be a fool to think that even when he was away from the club he somehow became something more than what he was, a whore.
The male laughed.
"Something funny to you?" Asked Ezra as he stepped in front of Jin, holding his arm out to protect him.
"Ezra. . ." Commented Jin, reaching for him, as others started to look their way.
This wasn't the place to get into it. Why did alpha's have to be so hot-headed?
"You know what." Commented to male, shaking the billfold in his hand, "I know where to find him."
"Excuse me?" Ezra took his words as a threat, raising his voice.
"Actually, now that I think about it. I think I'll pass altogether." He slipped the money back into his pocket.
"Enjoy your night." Commented the male as he stepped back, eyeing Jin from behind him for a hard second before he turned away.
"The fuck he thinks he can get off like that," Ezra spoke, still staring the male down well after he walked off.
"You didn't have to step in like that and make a scene."
"Me?" Questioned Ezra pointing to the center of his chest shocked, "He was the one that made the scene."
"You only added to it." Jin stated, "I don't need anyone to protect me. I told you that already."
"I don't give a fuck. He was out of line. Implying that you only speak in money. Fuck that, and fuck him."
"Well, he's not wrong." Jin's tone lowered, showing the first hint of shame to Ezra.
He wasn't proud of what he was. Even less so that it seemed he had a bit of a reputation outside of the club as well. So even the everyday event was still connected to work somehow. Jin grew quiet after that, not saying much at all as they moved on through the rest of the building. Ezra was here to work, and he wasn't going to be the one that was at fault for not allowing that to happen.
Jin an omega pulled into a world he wasn't ready for. A world that was promised to be nothing more than what he dreamed of by a man he loved. Only to have the one thing he's ever truly cared for taken from him.
Ezra an alpha done dirty but took one for the team. Trying to find his way onto a new path in life. A better path. Maybe even one worth going back to prison for?
Heath an alpha where you don't want to fall on to his bad side. He rules what he owns. Twisting and mending everything he lays his hands on to benefit his deviant mind.
