When Heath finally came to him with a job for him to do, Ezra got excited. Thinking it was about fucking time he got some work to do. Some real work. Heath asked him to come to his office so they could talk it over. Ezra was more than happy to meet him wherever. Noticing that he picked the same club that Jin just so happens to work at when there were multiple locations that were closer to the two of them at the time.
He didn't say anything of course. Jin may have implied after a few beers at his place that Heath had asked about their first night out. Joking that he was jealous. Ezra knew what kind of man Heath was at the core, finding it odd that he would even ask at all. Jin was nothing more than some ATM to him. A pretty object that made him money. Doubting much has come to change in him since he's been locked up.
Spotting Jin on the floor as he walked in. The two of them shared a glance but nothing more. He was working. Ezra eyed the male next to him for a lot longer, feeling his top lip start to curl into a snarl as the male leaned in next to Jin, rubbing on him marking him. The sense of being territorial over Jin quickly flooded him.
Ezra shook his head, pushing the not so pretty thoughts of what he wanted to do to the other alpha away as well as the emotions in his chest. Jin was right liking him wasn't a good idea. He had his work to do. Getting involved with others would only lead to more trouble for himself and them.
"So what do you have for me?" Ezra asked as he took a seat on the other side of Heath's desk. "Another bank, jewelry store, a fucking arcade?"
Heath was not so amused by his last suggestion.
"I don't do arcades." Heath puffed on his cigar, his eyes looking at the computer screen in front of him, watching the main floor.
He had his own security system in place. All the rooms were wired and were recording. Not that everyone who worked for him was aware of such things. The business he ran was more of a hush-hush kind of thing. So one could only imagine what a man of power might do for him if he just so happened to slip a little tape to his pregnant wife at home. Heath played it smart, finding that collecting this kind of information acted as a form of insurance for himself. However tonight, he had his eyes on something else. More of someone else, watching Jin on the floor out front.
Ezra with his line of work he already knew where every camera was in this place. He also helped set up the system too. Sure, Heath has made changes since then, but he knew what to look for. Heath is a cheeky bastard too. Putting both mics and cameras in his worker's personal rooms. That alone broke a few laws in and of itself.
"Art gallery." He finally commented, "There is a huge one coming into town soon. Got a buyer that's interested in a few of the pieces that will be on display. Need you to scope out the place for me."
"Easy." Shrugged Ezra, rubbing his chin, "Mind if I borrow Jin?"
He saw the flicker in Heath's eyes at the question. Holding back the smirk that wanted to pull at the corner of his lips as he watched Heath play it off. Jin was right in his hunch. Getting the feeling it was more than just him being a boss and having one of his key escorts being pulled for the night causing him to lose money but something more personal.
"Would look kind of weird with just me going alone. I don't look like some fucking chump into expensive art, but a guy trying to impress is a different story."
"Take whomever you want." Heath waved his hand as if he wasn't phased by the need for Jin's company. "I want the information on my desk by next week. Need to start working on the plan as soon as possible to meet the deadline."
"No problem." Ezra got up, resting his hands on the back of the chair he had been sitting in, "I do have a guy that's looking for work too. Bunk mate. Legit."
Heath gave his look of him not being interested but was still listening.
"You know that huge heist that happened while I was in. The one a few cities over, where they got away with the whole fucking lot and still haven't been caught."
"If they weren't caught, why was he your bunkmate?"
"He got pinched for carrying. Stupid drug bust got eighteen months. We've kept in contact. I'll bring him by if you want to vet him." Ezra headed for his office door, "Pretty sure the art isn't going to be small and could use an extra pair of hands."
"Bring him when you have the information that I need." Heath pulled a long drag from his cigar, his eyes yet to move from the screen.
Jin an omega pulled into a world he wasn't ready for. A world that was promised to be nothing more than what he dreamed of by a man he loved. Only to have the one thing he's ever truly cared for taken from him.
Ezra an alpha done dirty but took one for the team. Trying to find his way onto a new path in life. A better path. Maybe even one worth going back to prison for?
Heath an alpha where you don't want to fall on to his bad side. He rules what he owns. Twisting and mending everything he lays his hands on to benefit his deviant mind.
