“Yes, of course, I’ve already finished mine in class. But, see you later?” He said with a big smile on his face.
“Yup cya in a bit! This won’t take too long hopefully!” I smiled back as we parted ways. He walked home as I continued walking down the street to the cafe.
We Continue..
As I walked into the cafe I saw Melody sitting at a table. As soon as she saw me she stood up and waved while blushing. I walked up to her.
“H-hey Evan!” She said in a light tone.
“Hey. Why did you ask me to come here?” I already know why but I need to get through this quickly so I can go to Sam’s house.
“W-well I wanted to ask you something….” She continued to blush even more.
“What is it?” I’ll play along for now. Not much else to do.
“Um, w-will you… Will you go out with me!?” She said quickly then looked up at me awaiting my answer.
“I’m sorry… But I can’t.” So please, leave me alone.
“You can’t? BUT WHY? I’ve liked you for so long! I’m sure you’ll like me eventually, you can come to like me! I don’t care how long it’ll take! I’ll wait for you!” She just kept talking.
“I don’t think I will. I’m just not interested in dating you… Sorry..” I’m not even interested in being your friend, let alone dating.
“You never know! Unless do you maybe… Like somebody else?” She stared at me waiting for an answer.
“Like somebody else?... Yeah actually, I do like someone else. I like them a lot actually.” I smiled to myself as I thought about it.
“Who is it! I can be better than them! I’m better than any other girl you could possibly like!” Well for one, you are the worst girl anyone could like…
“I’m sorry but I can’t tell you that. I’m gonna go now if you have nothing else to say.” I took one last look at her and walked out of the cafe. I have somewhere else to be right now.
-At Sam’s house-
“Hey, Evan! Sam is in his room. Dinner is almost done too so I’ll call you guys when it’s done.” Sam’s mom is an excellent cook too.
“Okay! I’ll be in Sam’s room then!” I walked into Sam’s room and immediately saw Sam sitting on his phone in bed.
“Looks like you made it out of the cafe with Melody!” Sam put his phone down.
“Yeah, whatever. She was super annoying about it.” It was annoying having to talk to her. Especially when she raised her voice. Everyone in there was looking at us.
“Haha, what happened?” A lot Sam. A lot happened.
“She asked me out, I said no, then she started yelling saying that I could learn to like her and all this crap.” I hate girls like her.
“She really tried to convince you that you would eventually like her? Now that is annoying!” Sam seemed just as annoyed as me.
“Not only that but she kept raising her voice at me, pretty much everyone was looking at us.” I hate attention and a lot of people from our school hang out there so this will most likely spread fast.
“I didn’t know she was that annoying. Now I don’t like her either.” Sam said, rolling his eyes.
“Boys! Dinner is done!” Sam’s mom yelled from the other room.
“Okay coming!” Sam yelled back.
“Yeah! Food time!” I’m starving.
“You only come here for the food huh?” Sam said as we walked out the door.
“No! I come here for the food and homework!” I smiled at him and he just rolled his eyes.
-After they ate-
“Hey boys, before you go back to your room. I just got a message from my work that they are short-staffed and need some help. I normally do my work from home but they need me in the office so I’ll be gone for a couple of hours. Is that alright?” I forgot she had her work computer at home, she hasn't gone to her work for a while.
“Yeah we don’t mind but don’t push yourself too hard okay?” Sam has always been caring for his mom.
“Okay well, I’m off. I’ll see you in a bit. Also, Evan, you can go ahead and stay the night it’s getting late. Just make sure to text your mom!” She smiled at me and then left out the door.
“Well, guess I’m staying the night then!” I smiled as I turned to go back to Sam’s room.
“We have school tomorrow, what about clothes?” Sam walked into his room after me.
“I’ll wear some of yours!” I said as I sat on the bed.
“Okay, but they won’t fit you.” He said sitting next to me.
“It’ll be fine! Plus now I have more time to do my homework.” I really should get started on that.
“You mean copy mine?” Sam rolled his eyes as he grabbed our bags to get the homework out.
“I mean you did offer…” I hate doing homework but lucky me, I have Sam! He gave me my bag and then started going through his. We both got out our homework the only difference being mine was blank and his was not. He went to hand his paper to me but pulled his hand away right before I got to grab it.
“If you want my homework… I should get something out of it too.” He looked at me with a smirk on his face.
“Oh really? What do you want for it then?” Sam rarely asks for something back when I take his homework, I wonder what it is? He blushed as he started to say something…
