That bitch Akane was just standing there, not even facing me. Why was that? Because I'm weak. Our new teacher was weak too and he had no clue whatever the hell he was doing. As she left with Miki and the others she glanced in my direction a moment and she fucking smiled!
"Fuck you..." I muttered under my breath.
"Come on Shugo, she's only doing it to piss you off." Sayuri was worrying her head off as usual. Akane was already at the entrance of the elevator with the ass-holes from security now. If she was gonna give me any shit, she would have by now...
"Whatever, let's go."
We turn to leave and then I see it, the fucking teacher is just standing there, staring back at the elevator with some stupid look on his face. Fuck he looks hopeless.
"We did get through roll call." He murmurs. But there's something about the way he says it that actually makes me look at him. The guy was pissed! Hah! He was clenching his teeth and giving her the death stare when he said it. Maybe he wasn't a total pushover after all.
Still, I wasn't sticking around, today was a write off anyway after that, so we left the guy there and started heading to the arcade with all the others.
I stopped in front of the weirdo who was still crouching in the corner. "Yo Azumi, wake the fuck up, we're going to the arcade."
"Now is school time." She didn't move, just kept crouching there facing away from us. Was she stupid? We supposed to sit in school and put in all that effort only until the experiment is over and they put a bullet through our heads.
"Tchh, whatever," We head to the arcade without her and leave her to her marbles or whatever she's messing with today.
"She's such a weirdo." Sayuri whines.
"Shut up Sayuri." Sometimes Sayuri gets on my nerves too, she thinks she's fucking better and that annoys the shit out of me.
"We're all fucking weird, that's why we're here." She goes silent at that. I kinda felt bad for yelling at her. I mean, she kinda thinks she's better, but she helps a lot and actually does stuff. She actually gives a shit.
It's funny. None of us ever fit in before we were dragged into this dump. But as freaks of a feather, we on with each other pretty okay.
"Eh, it's just, we can only trust each other, you know? All of us, we're the best chance we've got at getting out of this place."
Jun speaks up, sounding kind of amused. "What about the teacher, he's kind of weird too, I think he's telling the truth about being dragged here..." Smug bastard, Jun always knows how to play devils advocate.
This pisses me off. It's like they've forgotten everything the world has taught them about adults. "Don't give me that shit. Maybe, MAYBE that might be true, but we don't KNOW that for sure. And even then, given the chance, he'd probably screw us over if it saved his own skin..."
"Rule 1", Sayuri whispered, looking forward.
I nodded, "Yeah, Rule 1. Never trust adults."
I get a flash of Teach's angry face from before and that weird joke he made when we first met him. I grit my teeth, not wanting to acknowledge it at first, but I can't help it. I look down and sigh. "Still, I guess we can wait and see."

Hi all. I'm going to try and set this up to have a weekly release schedule. Looking at the performance, it seems maybe Wednesday through to Friday are the best days, so hopefully everyone will be able to expect some consistency from now on.
Any feedback about anything at all, please let me know.
