So, funny story. I thought I saved every finalized page from the OMS and put it on my computer......I was wrong. The last four pages of Issue 5 are missing. Being the forgetful and stupid kid I was (or still am, in some respects) I didn't bother to check if I had everything before the old laptop died. Out of the 121 pages of the original mini-series, the ONE page I wanted to use happens to be lost. Until I get the pages back, or at least a better scan, you'll have to settle with this bad scan from my crappy home scanner.
Anywho, this is a comparison between JOMS #5 p15 (2013) and JWS #3 p6 (2015). As you can see by the numbers alone, I cut a lot of stuff out. In the original there's a whole fight scene with the flying drones in Empire Labs. But it creates a plot-hole, in that why would Dr. Mechtavias send his drones to steal Dr. A and the CG files if he wants his location to remain secret? It was scrapped to add more character development for The J-Man and Sleepy Bear.
Another thing changed was how The J got into a position where SB would have to save him. In the original The J was being dragged upward by the drones. He breaks them but doesn't realize how high up he is soooo........yep. In the redue it is the Doctor himself who strikes The J into his fall to the street.
One thing I really started to noticed was how little space I used. There's probably less dialogue on each page because I expected to do 2-parters, but this is still inexcusable. Especially panel 4. There's hardly anything there. And the horribly saturated colors make it hard to read.
Finally, I've gone on before on previous OvN's on how much I've improved in overall art and story. But here you can see me experimenting more with my panel layouts. Every page of the OMS is in a grid, but I've gotten more interesting in the WS, and everyone's happier for it.
