Briar clutched Clovis's hand and sighed, "As soon as the rain lets up, we have to go. I don't want to draw unwanted attention. So get some rest for now". Clovis was confused, he thought she wanted to investigate, but he guessed she didn't want any attention due to how she was perceived. As Clovis was deep in thought, he was suddenly overcome with sleepiness as he inhaled a sweet scent from the room, his eyes closed, her glowing eyes being the last thing he saw.

The sun was let in through the window and the first that he saw was her. He didn't understand it but he felt like he was getting used to her appearance. The first time he saw her, she was blindingly beautiful, but for some odd reason, he could not remember the details quite right. She was right in front of him but, looked different than before. It was as if he could remember her having black tangled hair and a pale appearance, but she has red hair right now. Clovis's confusion stopped as her eyes fluttered open. She immediately sat up and began to get dressed. "We have to go". Clovis was confused but did as she did, the clothes were dry and he quickly got dressed. But, as he stood still, he began to feel and even hear what Briar was describing last night. It was not a scream or a cry, but more like an ache. Dozens of little voices were trying to reach out, and, he was becoming more drawn to them. Stuck in a spiral, he was drawn to the ground. For a moment, the cries sounded like they were calling out for him, not for help, but to end the pain. Clovis felt pity for these tiny voices and a growing desire began to build up. He wanted to help them, he tried to save them...but how?
Briar immediately shook Clovis to awaken him from the trance. "Huh? What happened... Briar?". Briar stared at the man in front of her as confusion also engulfed her. Just a moment ago, she saw a strange power emanate from him. Something so inevitable that it could frighten the very original Celestial beings. Briar began to ponder, but before she could think of anything plausible, multiple men burst through the door and tackled them. The innkeeper quickly covered Briar's face while the men covered Clovis, "Hurry, everyone out. Keep those masks on, the air is sweet and we don't know what's causing it. GO GO GO!!". Clovis was beyond confused but tried to break free as each hand held him tight, but he couldn't get a good angle to flail away. Then, as quickly as everything happened, Clovis hit the ground. He quickly undid the ropes but was not prepared when he uncovered his face.
Briar stood in the middle of the room, the floorboards blooming underneath her, vines dancing around her as her body cracked and popped unnaturally. And, as she guided the vines through the air, bodies hung from her vines, swaying back and forth. Each swing either made a deeper hole in the body or caused more blood to splatter on the floor. Briar's hands now flowed more fluidly as if she heard a melody play in her head. Bodies swayed around her until she undid her vines one by one, each cadaver lay splayed on the floor, mangled and dirty. The only one left was the innkeeper. He sat shaking as he stared at the blonde woman in front of him. She was still so enchanting to him that he wanted to give her everything, but every cell in his body told him to run.
Briar walked towards the man and looked at him with curious eyes. She extended her hand to him, but before he could reach her, Briar summoned a vine that rapidly coiled around the innkeeper's neck. The innkeeper gasped for air as he tried to untie the vine, but, Briar began dragging him outside the door. Her eyes were disinterested.
Clovis was stunned by what he saw, how could she act so indifferent about what she had done? Clovis ran in front of Briar, eyes wide and his breathing going wild, "What- what are you doing!". Briar looked surprised, "They were going to hurt us. Your tone makes it seem like I am in the wrong". Briar could see she was losing him but gave Clovis her signature smile as she loosened the vine on her new person. "I have changed my mind, let's see what's underneath this unsuspecting place".
