Robyn and I walked out the closet. “Are you mad?” Robyn asked. “No, frustrated,” I said. “Yeah, orientation is only about an hour,” they said. “That’s a long time,” I said. “You’ll be fine,” Robyn said, grabbing my arm. I opened the door and saw some girl run out into me. Robyn moved in time but I got completely tackled. She got off me quickly and Robyn helped me up. “Are you okay?” Robyn asked, helping me fix my glasses. “Yeah,” I said. The girl got up and started to apologize. “I’m so sorry! My friend pushed me! I didn’t me-” she started to ramble. “Stop, I’m fine. It’s not a big deal kid,” I said. “Thanks for shutting her up. Her voice is headache inducing,” Brandon said, followed by a groan.
“Hi, I’m Julia. I’m a freshman here this year,” she said, sticking her hand out. I heard Brandon fall out of a chair. “I’m finna go take some Tylenol and smoke a cigarette,” I heard Brandon say. I took her hand and forced a smile. “I’m Ash Sitcom. Nice to meet you,” I said. “As in one of Malcolm’s sons,” Julia said. “I guess you could put it that way,” I said, letting the girl’s hand go. I saw Axel open the door. “Er- Ash, dad wants you. The crowd is getting antsy,” he said. “Come with me backstage. Robyn, I’ll talk to you later. You, just stay out of trouble,” I said. I looked at the girl and she nodded as I walked down a corridor. I heard Axel running after me. I opened the first door and Axel and I were on stage. Axton was there, too.
“Ash, you made it,” Malcolm said. I looked at the door to the hallway. It was swinging back and forward. He introduced Axton and Axel as new students to the college. The crowd cheered for them; however, my brothers looked dreadful. As if they didn’t want to go to school. Soon, I realized why. “Where’s the twins?” I muttered Axel. “They took them. They are in the car,” Axel whispered back. He sounded sad. “Why the hell are they not here?” I asked. “Malcolm’s fault,” Axton said, butting in. I started to back away. Malcom grabbed my shoulder. “What the fuck are you doing, boy?” he asked, painfully. He was smiling.
