"What do you mean that one of us is a 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘚𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘳 ?"Elliot asked my sister while tilting his head to his right side. This is one of the few things I have noticed about Elliot. Whenever he is confused or doesn't understand something, he tilts his head slightly towards one side. Honestly, he looks so cute at that moment. His catty blue eyes looking at you with an amusing frown plastered on his face. It's a kind of face, looking at which you can't do anything but smile. And yet here I was, trying my best to hold my smile to prevent the situation from getting more uncomfortable for him.
"𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘚𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘦𝘳𝘴 are actually creatures that are capable of travelling between parallel realms. Though, as per the book here, they became extinct about five hundred years ago." Millia said, keeping down the old book she was holding.
"Your entering the Elf realm can only be explained by the fact that either of you or both of you are PathSeekers" She further added. Elliot gave a puzzled look to his friend, Nathan but he just gave a "whatever" type shrug as a reply.
" Alright, just...just tell us how to get back to our world.." Elliot declared.
"That's....not something, I can tell you.." Millia told him and he gave her his cute frown again. This time I wasn't able to hold any longer and covered my mouth to prevent anyone from witnessing my stupid grin.
Thankfully, no one did.
"Why? Is it classified information of your country?" This time Nathan spoke up. Actually, it seemed that Nathan wasn't all serious about all these Elf thing we have told him till now. I cannot blame him though, this kind of stuff is inevitably hard to digest.
"No, it's just that it is not mentioned in this book and I don't have any idea on how this travelling between the realms occurs." Millia clarified.
Nathan just gave a deep sigh.
"Can you just stop making this stupid joke here and just let us go? What do you wish for money? I can give you that when we get back. " Nathan declared, frustrated.
"Well, we are not holding you hostage here. You can go as you wish, just like the way you came here. " Millia cleared.
"Wait, are there any other realms other than this Elf Realm?" Elliot asked in curiosity.
Millia turned her head to Elliot and looked at him with shrewd eyes, perhaps trying to analyse where this question was coming from. Elliot was surprised with this reaction let was still on his question.
"Well, there are some other realms other than the Elf and Mortal realm (Earth) like the Angelic Realm, the Demonic Realm and the Chaotic Realm, which is actually the emptiness in between the other four realms." She continued.
"Do you actually belive this shit, Elliot?" Nathan asked, looking at Elliot in disbelief.
"Well, the attack on you and the description of the guy who saved you supports the idea that we are in some magical world so... I guess. " Elliot told to his friend.
"Come on Elliot, those were just wolves." Nathan announced.
"There are called Bloodhounds. " Millia interrupted.
"A what? " Both Nathan and Elliot asked, simultaneously.
"Bloodhounds. They are nasty, ravenous creatures who are attracted to the smell of blood and would have probably torn you to shreds if that friend of yours might not have arrived. " Millia told them.
Both Elliot and Nathan were looking at Millia as if they were nursery kids while Millia was their teacher explaining to them the wonders of the world. They seemed a little scared but at the same time excited. They reminded me of Millia and my smaller version who used to hear our Dad's stories with childish amazement and awe.
"You must be bleeding somewhere if you were attacked by Bloodhounds." Millia told Nathan.
"Well, as you can see I am not. I am as fine as an man should be. " Nathan proclaimed.
I witness Elliot stand up and turn all Nathan over, checking him out from head to toe. He checked his fingers and even his feet. Finally, touching his head he exclaimed:
"Nathan! Your head is bleeding !"
Nathan touched his head and found spots of red over his finger, he wasn't bleeding barrels of blood, but he was indeed bleeding. Probably he got a small injury on his head somewhere.
"How long have you been bleeding?" Elliot asked, his voice all worried. I had a kind of nostalgic moment looking at the scene. It just reminded me of someone...someone I can't exactly remember.
"Wait, when did I get this?" Nathan questioned himself.
"Was it when I fell into that mud pit?" He added.
"Miss Millia, can you stop his bleeding? " Elliot requested.
"Of course. That's my job. Just leave the Miss from there. " Millia told.
"So, tell us how we return going to return back to our world?" Nathan interrupted, overlooking his bleeding.
"Like I said before, that's not something I can tell you. You have to find your way back on your own." Millia said.
A sigh escaped Nathan's mouth.
"So there is no way you can help us go back, is there?"
Millia gave them a 'Maybe' type shrug. In reality she was sarcastically copying Nathan's way of replying but he didn't notice.
"I think we should first have dinner, I am really hungry here. " I finally interrupted the conversation and my stomach added a testimony to my appeal with its loud growl. Suddenly, all the eyes turned to me. I didn't mind the others but whenever Elliot looked at me directly, it made me a bit shy and conscious about myself. Then, Elliot started laughing loudly and instead of feeling embarrassed about my comment, I felt a bit proud to be able to make Elliot laugh. 'What's with this kid?' I asked myself while grinning.
Elliot Eves is pulled into a strange realm of Magical Creatures and Elf sorcerers. He is the first 'Pathseeker'( ones who can travel freely between the four realms of Existence) in the last five hundred years. For the beings here, his blood is far more precious than his life itself.
Even in this living mess, there is a ray of hope. An Elf is there beside him. The feeling he has only by a glimpse of him makes his heart to pound leaps and bounds. Is this love? Then, who is this guy with shadows surrounding him, who comes so often in his dreams and stares at him with those longingly eyes.
What if fates bind you to someone darker? Someone you can never dream of loving? What is love anyway? Is true love just a myth or reality? Can love really bind two souls for eternity? Or it's as fragile a life itself. And what dark secrets do the fates have for these Pathseekers?
"To die for someone is easy my friend, to live for someone is the harder part. And I chose both for the same person."
