“Okay, so I got a dope place for the bachelor parties!” Clark announced to the half-dead Payne cousins, his little sister and Katie. All of them groaning as the light in the room was turned on in the middle of the night.
“Ugh, shut the light and your mouth, man.” Juliet grumbled as she threw a cushion towards the excited man, but missed his body by a whole feet’s distance.
“Come on, get up and see this amazing place!” The laptop in Clark’s hand was placed on Juliet while Blake and Scarlet kept groaning into their pillows, laying on their stomachs.
Katie looked at the two and muffled a chuckle as she saw how similar the two were.
The only one that could rid herself of sleep was Katie as she came over to Juliet’s mattress and nudged her awake. Meanwhile, Clark showed the awake woman the place he was so excited to show.
“Oh, this is pretty.”
“It is, right? And it’s not even as expensive as half of the places in this small ass town, and who doesn’t like nature, right?” Clark’s excitement didn’t even falter as Blake managed to hit the back of his head with a cushion.
The guy didn’t even budge as he kept showing Katie more pictures of the lake nearby the town they were in. There was also a family cabin near the lake which could easily house the Payne family members, including Lauren’s family and the three people that were becoming close to the Payne people as well.
“Nature?” Juliet grumbled as she woke up completely and looked at the guy that was sitting by her feet. “You’re not gonna pull a Friday the 13th on us, right?”
“Really now?” Clark raised an eyebrow towards the still sleepy woman, that gave him a smirk. “Who knows why you’d want to take us beautiful people out into the woods?”
“Oh, shut up.” One of the twins spoke up from their sleep.
Juliet could only glare at her twin brothers while Katie smiled at their interaction even though it was quite short and filled with hostility. No one liked to have their sleep disturbed.
“You do know that you could have showed us this place in the morning, right, Clark?” Turning to look at the man with the laptop, Juliet gave him a small smile. The man nodded his head before mumbling, “But, I couldn’t sleep.”
And so, he began to surf the web in search for good places where the whole family could go and no strippers could even be brought, and while doing that, he found the best place in town, or out of it.
“Come here, man, I’ll cuddle ya to sleep.” Blake mumbled with his eyes closed all the way while he opened up his arms to the ceiling as if calling the ceiling to collapse in his arms.
Katie giggled at how idiotic the man looked but Clark didn’t mind as he went to lay in Blake’s arm, leaving his laptop right there on Juliet’s mattress. The red-head just raised an eyebrow at the two men’s actions before looking at the screen of the portable computer.
“Ugh, idiots.” The twins sat up to look over at Blake’s mattress as he laid on his back with his left arm outstretched. Clark had his head on the outstretched arm as he laid on his right side.
“No, just single men that don’t have girlfriends to cuddle.” Juliet chimed in as she kept her eyes on the laptop screen. Katie stared at the two men before she turned to look at Scarlet, who had gone back to sleep.
“Who needs girlfriends when you got bros?”
“Do you even know how cringey that sounded?” Angela was the one that spoke up now as she rolled out of her mattress, cracking her neck after. Blake didn’t even open her eyes to look at the teenager who got up and went to the bathroom while shaking her head in pity looking at her brother and Blake.
“You guys are really crazy.” Katie commented as she laid down next to Juliet, who groaned in disapproval. “My place.” She whined as she tried to push the dark-haired woman off of her place.
The only one sleeping without being interrupted was Gregory, who had his back facing all the habitants of the room. He was sleeping next to Scarlet, and was cuddled into her side.
Juliet was still browsing the webpage when a subtle ping caught her attention and a notification was seen at the corner of the screen. “Hi, Clarkie, wanna have some fun tonight?” The red-head read aloud, while controlling her laughter, as she clicked on the small notification box.
This had caught the attention of practically everyone in the room as the room became suddenly noisier than it was a few minutes earlier.
“Oh no, don’t read that!” Clark crawled over to Juliet in the fastest speed he could go in.
“Oh my god, she even sent nudes.” Katie piped up as she looked at the screen which surely showed a picture of a woman wearing nothing to cover her chest.
“Really? We want to see too!” The twins and Blake exclaimed in unison as all three of them sat up in full attention after hearing what Katie had just said.
“Juliet, don’t you dare let the twins see anything!” Scarlet commanded as she looked at them from her place, not even moving to get up from her lying position.
Clark was quick to snatch the laptop away and shut the screen before the twins or Blake would see it. He wasn’t afraid of letting a couple of teenagers see a half-naked woman, but he sure was afraid of his boss.
“Clarkie~” Juliet smirked while Clark groaned in annoyance.
“She’s just an ex that doesn’t know when to give up.” Clark explained so that the two women wouldn’t think that he was a player or anything.
“Yeah, yeah.” The twins waved their hands dismissively as they went back to bed with disappointment clear on their tired and sleepy faces. Blake was sat pouting as he looked at Clark.
“Just go back to sleep.” Clark grumbled as he went to his own mattress now, making Blake pout even more. Placing his laptop on top of his suitcase that was just beside his mattress, Clark laid down on his back with a sigh.
He was still embarrassed about the nudes his Ex had sent him and how Katie and Juliet had seen it.
“Ugh, you all are so noisy even in the middle of the night.” Angela complained as she came out of the connected bathroom. She looked around the room before her eyes settled on Juliet and Katie, who were still giggling to themselves.
“Go to bed, for god’s sake, you two.” She ordered as she walked to her place. Juliet only gave the teenager a roll of her eyes as she laid down while Katie went to her own mattress after Juliet had pushed her off of hers.
When everything and everyone had settled down, everyone heard Juliet’s voice and her single sentence was enough to make everyone groan.
“So, who’s gonna close the lights?”
……………………………………………..
“Woah, you all look like you guys came out of a horror movie?” Aunt Wanda commented as she looked at her oldest son and Scarlet, who were the ones that came into the kitchen first thing after waking up.
Aunt Wanda was the only one in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for the family as she was cutting up onions to put in omelets, since the kids loved omelets.
“Ugh.” Scarlet groaned as she went over to the coffee-maker to get some coffee while Blake sat down beside his mother at the dinning table. He placed his head on her shoulder, as she chuckled while still cutting onions.
“I’m tired, mommy.” Aunt Wanda laughed at her son as she continued to do her work while Scarlet brought Blake some coffee as well as getting some for herself.
“Woah.” Scarlet shot Vanessa a glare who stopped right at the entrance of the kitchen as she looked at her younger sister and her idiotic cousin.
To be honest, Scarlet and Blake, both had dark circles and bags under their eyes, so it pretty much justified Vanessa’s and Aunt Wanda’s reactions.
“We couldn’t sleep last night.” Blake answered Vanessa’s unasked question as he looked at her. Vanessa muffled a chuckle as she went to sit beside Aunt Wanda, who was also trying hard to not laugh at her unfortunate son and niece.
“Yeah, because someone interrupted our slumber and didn’t even close the lights.” Scarlet complained as she recalled what had happened last night.
All of the cousins couldn’t sleep because of Clark and how he had opened up the lights to show a getaway cabin to the cousins. Well, that part was the one they had accepted but after that, things became a bit crazy since Clark was the first one to fall asleep after the whole ex-girlfriend sending nudes fiasco.
But, the cousins had stayed awake because of the lights that were still on.
The whole night practically went by with Juliet, Blake, Scarlet and Katie arguing over who should be the one to leave the confines of their mattress to go over to the switchboard and close the lights.
And the whole problem was that no one wanted to get up.
Hence, the dark circles and bags. These stubborn people.
Juliet entered the kitchen with a yawn escaping her lips as well as stretching her arms. “Good morning.” She spoke in a raspy voice while going over to the coffee-maker, getting disgusted glares from Scarlet and Blake.
They looked at her as if she was the reason behind her sleeplessness.
“You all look like the cast of the walking dead.” Vanessa joked as she picked up another knife and began to help aunt Wanda in cutting onions and tomatoes for that omelet.
“Har-har, at least we don’t look like that every day.” Vanessa sent a glare her younger sister’s way, as she tried hard to control her urge to throw the knife at her only sister.
Scarlet smirked at the reaction she had gotten as she sipped from her coffee mug and went out of the kitchen, feeling a little better after dissing Vanessa.
“Sometimes I adore Scarlet more than I should.” Blake agreed with Juliet as the woman poured some coffee for herself and for her older cousin, worrying about how Vanessa’s mood swings would work this time.
It was only after a second that Vanessa began to tear up as she wiped at her eyes with the back of her hands.
“Aww, man, her mood swings are acting up. I can’t handle this so early in the morning.” Blake got up from beside his mother before leaving the kitchen, getting only a roll of the eyes by his cousins and mother.
“I promise, it’s the onions.” Vanessa stated as she placed the knife down when the stinging was too hard to handle. “Go wash your eyes, dear.” Aunt Wanda spoke as she placed a hand on Vanessa’s shoulder, who immediately stood up to go to the bathroom down the hall.
Just as Vanessa exited the kitchen, Katie entered with a confused look on her face.
“Um, why was Vanessa crying like that and why is no one going after her?” Juliet smiled pitifully at Katie, who walked over to Juliet, wanting a cup of coffee as well.
“Oh, sweet child, that was the power of onions. Get your coffee quickly so we can leave this horrid place too.” Katie obeyed Juliet with a chuckle while aunt Wanda gave her niece a sharp look.
Katie and Juliet went out of the kitchen after Katie had gotten her cup of coffee and now they were in the living room, where Blake, Scarlet and the twins were fighting over the remote.
“Scar, you’re always watching tv! Let us watch too.” Ed and Ed whined together as they stared at Scarlet, not even distracted by Juliet and Katie’s entrance into the living room.
“Well, I have nothing to do and Lauren’s not here, so I get to do what I want.” Blake rolled his eyes at her cousin. “Yeah, she’s not here to control the she-devil.”
“You better take that back before I take away the thing that makes you a he.”
Blake’s hands automatically shot to his crotch as he gave Scarlet an apologetic smile, while Juliet burst out laughing. She plopped beside Scarlet on the sofa while Katie sat next to Blake on the carpet floor.
The twins noticed how Katie sat beside Blake even when there was space beside Juliet on the sofa. Glancing at each other, they smirked, knowing well that this did not have anything to do with the fact that Scarlet and Katie were both each other’s ex-lovers.
Something was up between Blake and Katie.
At this moment, Clark entered into the living room with a wide smile on his face as he looked around the living room. “Good morning, my good people.”
Scarlet and Juliet gave him murderous glares as he walked over to the sofa and sat down beside the red-head. “Hah, what a beautiful morning, right?”
There was only a moment of silence before Scarlet and Juliet were practically killing Clark with a sofa cushion. Blake had also joined in when Clark began to struggle.
“Because of you we couldn’t sleep!” Juliet screamed as she tried to stuff Clark’s mouth with the whole cushion. She really looked like a crazy person at that moment.
Katie tried to handle the situation with maturity but then she gave up when no one except for Blake listened to her.
“I’m sorry, I just got excited.” Katie nodded her head as Blake gave her a sweet smile. This also didn’t go unnoticed by twins as they studied the two closely, not even paying attention to the murder attempt on Clark happening on the sofa.
“You kids are so damn noisy, and even in the morning!” Grandma Payne rolled in with Pudding sat on her lap, as she frowned at the young adults, especially the ones that were on the sofa.
Scarlet and Juliet stopped whatever they were doing and sat down again, pretending as if they weren’t just minutes away from suffocating Clark.
The dark-haired man breathed as much as he could while giving Juliet and Scarlet, both, a glare.
“It’s breakfast time,” Aunt Wanda came announcing, “Oh, Mother, you’re awake, why am I so surprised?”
Grandma Payne gave her daughter-in-law a glare before glancing at her grandchildren. She rolled out of the living room going to the kitchen for breakfast.
“Everyone has a mood today.” Clark mumbled but got hit in the head by none other than his boss as the dark-haired woman gave him a glare that almost spoke, ‘I’ll kill you’, to him.
Clark shivered before getting up with everyone else to go for breakfast as well.
