Was today my day off? In fact, yes. Unfortunately, ghosts rarely obeyed rules that were not on hand for them at the moment. My eyes snapped open as I could no longer ignore the loud tapping on the window.
"They don't let you get any sleep even after you die," Tristan muttered, taking the hand he had just held around me.
I got up a little and signaled to the ghost that I could see him and asked her to give me a moment. I sat up on the bed and rubbed my eyes. I definitely shouldn't have drunk so much the night before and celebrated my colleague's birthday so solemnly. I looked at Tristan, who was smiling at me as he lay on my bed.
"Because that ghost pisses me off more this morning than you do. I will not comment on how much I do not like, firstly, where you are, secondly, where your hand was a moment ago." I got up and invited the ghost inside.
"But ..." Tristan began to mumble. "You don't remember anything from yesterday?"
I ignored his words and focused on the new person. I recognized the character without any problem because I had seen her many times in my history books. I bowed slightly and regretted it immediately because I was starting to feel slightly dizzy.
"Young lady, are you a widow?" She asked, surprised by Tristan's presence, and I denied it. "So what is this man doing in your bed? Did he break NWLORBGAM?"
"It's actually like that," I muttered, a bit curious about what might happen next.
"Come here," the queen said imperiously. Tristan faced her confused. I didn't even notice how she folded her fan and hit him on the head thrice. "Don't you feel ashamed, young man? Now don't bother us and get out."
The ghost looked at me sadly and disappeared. NWLORBGAM is, in other words, "Nowhere written laws on the relationship between ghosts and mediums" and according to them, no spirit should enter my personal space without permission, usually extending to the entire room, apartment, or house. Depending on where each of us lived. Tristan broke this one of the guiding principles the first time he came into my life, and then somehow stayed in it. And yes, we should make a better name for this. I headed for the kitchen to quench my thirst finally, and her majesty followed me. In the meantime, she explained to me what she comes with.
"Your Majesty, the problem is that I look, like you see yourself. I have a goddamn hangover ..."
"Express yourself and do not overdo it with alcohol next time," she rebuked me.
"I have a very bad hangover," I corrected myself. "And I can't just go into the palace and say, Hello, your ancestor wants to talk to you and give you some tips on ruling the country, are you interested?" I added sarcastically.
"We have one more visitor today?" Judy asked cheerfully as she entered the kitchen.
"Yes, Queen Victoria," I said.
"Really?" she asked slightly nervous. "I don't know how to act, I still look so bad. Good morning, Your Majesty," she curtsied slightly. "I'm sorry and I won't disturb you anymore. You won't believe Ronald, I met the queen," she started talking to the spirit of her husband who was always with her. He also bowed slightly and disappeared. I rubbed my forehead a bit to make myself think.
"Okay, Your Majesty, we'll do this. I will call my coordinator, I will warn him and the queen will go to him, he has the appropriate licenses," I said as I headed back to my room for the phone.
"Okay, child, if you can at least do it," the ex-head of state muttered dissatisfied and disappeared.
"Medium 942 to coordinator number 10. The queen will show up at your place, she came to me as I don't even have your authorization," I said as soon as I heard someone pick up the phone.
"What do you sound so strange?" asked my supervisor with a worried voice.
"I only have a hangover," I muttered. "And I'm going back to bed."
"Go, go. Jeez, she's fast. She's already knocking on my window. Take care medium 942," he said as a goodbye.
Camilla is a medium 2.0, what allows her to interact with ghosts as with alive people. There is one problem, she doesn't want to deal with one specific dead man - Tristan. While dealing with work in Association, love, friends, and a lot of ghosts, she is trying to be the best version of herself.
