It'll be a piece of cake to steal these silly humans' lifespans, I'll reach immortality briskly!
Here comes my first victim… An old man, your demise is my delight!
"Hello sir, wouldn't you like to foresee what the future has in store for you?" He proposed to the elder who responded fervidly.
"Actually there's this thing that's been bothering me, my curiosity is killing me!"
Oh, I assure you it will. Just you wait once we're inside…
"You've come to the right place." They were about to enter the tent, Hamza halted in his tracks.
"There 's no need. It'll be quick." The elder began his never-ending talking "When will my future son-in-law realize he wants the position? He's a little slow to catch on… I wanna be here when my daughter gets married!"
"Umm…sir, I can only read your future." He massaged his temples, taking deep breaths. This old geezer was going on and on about something irrelevant.
"Sham." Hamza left after sending the fake fortune teller an overly repulsed face.
Sham?! He wasn't a good victim either! What's up with wanting to see another person's future? That's unethical.
I'll take a break from humans for now… maybe I'll have more luck with this red fox.
"Hello, sir-" He started his cliche phrase, though the listener didn't allow him to end it.
"Don't wanna." Kyro stuck out his tongue, taking his leave.
"I didn't even-" He was bold to reply, thus he was disrespected for the second time.
"C'mon scammer, creepy tent, shady clothes… you're not really doing a good job of hiding it." The fox shook his head at the lack of creativity.
Guess it's on me for trying to trick a trickster. Oh, there's a woman coming this way, third time's the charm!
"Hey, young lady, don't you wish to be aware of what awaits you in the-" She didn't wait for him to finish and abruptly answered.
"No, thanks." Hearing her refusal, he forcefully grabbed her by the wrist.
I'll steal your life, it's a matter of honor! I can't let three victims escape in a row, that would taint the name Tavarius.
"You said you can see the future?" Then you know what I'm about to do." Jiya stomped on his feet and got away.
Tsk, Immortality! Who would covet that? Invisibility is three times more useful. I'll go back home, mom said she would make my favorite food today.
…
"It hasn't withered?" She tapped on the petals, perplexed by the rose's untypical conservation.
Did Kyro do something to it? He has a legendary sword plus gifted me an undying light, it's not completely out of place.
I wonder how a fox is well acquainted with magic, could it be an extra power from Ghazi?
"I probably should…" She wasn't sure, all this time Jiya waited for him to bring it up to give an explanation.
Yet the fox never mentioned anything related to magic. Couldn't he confide in her? Or he's also waiting for her to bring it up? Should she let him say it or ask away?
"Couldn't you make this easier for me, Kyro?" Complaining to the walls, she rested her head on the desk, sulking.
"How can I do that?" The object of her frustration came to her rescue, the fox was sitting on her window.
Jiya went pale, she totally forgot he could listen to her from his room. That pair of ears aren't just for show, his audition is excellent.
I have to be more mindful of what I think out loud… otherwise, I'll be digging myself a hole.
"Did I scare you that much?" He got closer to check on her, what was she afraid of? It's not the first time he does that.
"I didn't expect you to actually appear, it surprised me." She recounted the facts.
"Do you need my help?" Kyro was anxious to become aware of the reason she called him, intentionally or not.
"I've been meaning to ask you something…" Jiya was tense, though determined to get through this.
She confidently began to talk regarding her concerns about his capacity to do magic. After she was done speaking, he elucidated her on the matter.
"Your talking sword is the spirit of a witch who's also my admirer?" Jiya saw an adequate amount of magic for it to be plausible, altogether it was a lot to digest.
"I planned to tell you, but I feared you'd think I was crazy. Like you do now." The fox lowered his head.
"Can I meet her?!" She uninhibitedly hugged the gloomy wig destroyer, restraining him from running off.
"She's not that great, you'll be disillusioned." He guaranteed, accepting the candles thief's request. Hilda wouldn't let him live if he didn't say yes anyway.
This year,Jiya was chosen to be Hanlin's bride,in other words,a sacrifice. After killing the man-eating monster, she makes a deal with a little fox.
When he gets her out of that forest she would return the amulet that the beast stole from him. But would a human and a fox ,the weakest creatures in that damned forest, be able to survive that perilous journey?
