The merchant's daughter spent the day roaming the ship, exploring every nook and cranny that she dared. Once or twice a crew member shot her an unpleasant look, after which she would immediately retreat to the safety of the deck to discover a different enterprise. She took care not to talk to anyone. Not a particularly social creature by nature, she preferred to observe and interact from a distance. James was the only person she ended up speaking directly to the entire day.
