"Mr. Ronald, may I please take a moment and ask for your advice?" I asked as I walked over to the ghost who hadn't always enjoyed my presence in his house and simply ignored me.
Mrs. Judy was doing simple gardening work under the watchful eye of her deceased husband. Spring was just beginning, so she slowly prepared everything so that she could enjoy the view of the flowers while sipping coffee in the small wooden gazebo.
"Ronald, what do you think to plant more colorful flowers this year? Maybe in different shades of purple? Our young friend also likes this color. And this year she worked very hard in college. She will certainly be pleased," the old woman said to herself.
Without Camilla, she did not know exactly where Ronald was and which way she should face. He could only let her know that there was a gust of cold air nearby when he was moving.
"Judy, whatever you decide, it will certainly be beautiful, but do not overstrain yourself," he said tenderly. "I have to tell Camilla to look after you."
"You are a lovely couple," I noted, wanting to get his attention.
"Are you still here, young man?" He looked at me in disappointment.
"I wanted to ask for advice on how to win Camilla's heart?" I asked timidly. He raised his eyebrows, a look of surprise on his face. "I won't say, I've been trying for over a year, and I don't see any progress. And seeing you Mr. and Mrs. Judy and how your love is beautiful and ..."
"Forget it," muttered Mr. Ronald.
"Forget in what sense?"
"Forget I'll help you. Forget you'll ever make it. Camilla is too good to tolerate you anyway," he explained to me, a bit irritated, that I was disturbing him, spending a nice time in the garden.
"But..."
He interrupted me with an open hand gesture, focusing all his attention on Mrs. Judy, who stood there for a moment gasping for breath. Ronald was right next to her with a worried expression on his face that was also angry that there was nothing he could do but be next to her.
"I felt a little dizzy," said Judy in a whisper. "I'll be fine in a moment."
"Didn't I tell you?" sighed Mr. Ronald, and then he looked at me. "That's why you should forget, even if by some miracle your feeling is sincere, what will Camilla get out of it? Consider. Just let her live her life," he said in a sad voice, referring also to his own situation, and followed his wife, who was walking slowly towards the house. "Besides, I like Camilla and I don't like you, even if you weren't dead, I wouldn't like you anyway."
"Thanks," I thought, outraged and surprised that someone might not like me. I understood that he didn't like my presence, after all, he had been the only ghost here for decades, and probably chased away any others that might be around. Only I am stubborn enough to keep coming back. At first, I had the impression that something attracted me here by force, but it only lasted for a moment, because then the main reason I was here - was she, Camilla.
Mr. Ronald's advice was wise and I should listen to it, but I decided that I would not give up yet to win my beloved's heart! I clenched my fist with determination and went to nearby houses to see if anyone was watching a movie or a romantic series so that I could somehow inspire myself about what to do next.
Camilla is a medium 2.0, what allows her to interact with ghosts as with alive people. There is one problem, she doesn't want to deal with one specific dead man - Tristan. While dealing with work in Association, love, friends, and a lot of ghosts, she is trying to be the best version of herself.
