A few hours later, Tegan finally arrived home, she looked as beautiful as ever and looked relieved to be home.

“Hi Cole,” Tegan greeted me with a smile and made her way over to me for a kiss on the cheek. I can’t wait for that to change to a kiss on the mouth. As much as I love Tegan’s cheek kisses, I would prefer mouth kisses.

“Hi Tegan,” I replied with a smile as Tegan got comfortable on the sofa beside me and my hands went to her waist to keep her close to me. I almost forgot I wanted to talk to her. Whenever my eyes are on Tegan, all else is forgotten but I must talk to her. If I don’t things will stay the way they are between us and we’ll never move forward. “Liam any better?”

“He’s doing great, the Doctor said he can go home tomorrow,” Tegan told me. I can’t wait for Liam to be discharged so I can have my wife to myself. “I’m so relieved,”

Tegan sighed in relief before frowning.

“I meant it when I said I am sorry about all this. Me going to the hospital everyday leaving little time for us.” Tegan told me.

“I know, it’s ok Tegan. Really it is,” I assured Tegan. “However, there is something I want to talk to you about,”

“Really? What do you want to talk about?”

“Us,” I admitted. It’s now or never.

“What about us?” Tegan asked in confusion. “Aren’t you happy with me anymore? Are you going to dump me?”

I only meant to tell Tegan I wanted to move on with her not upset her. I would never dream of dumping her, she is my mate. I couldn’t dump her even if I wanted to.

“I knew this would happen,” Tegan said with teary eyes. “It’s because of me leaving you every day to see Liam isn’t it? I’ve been so concerned about him that I’ve ignored you. I’m really sorry, I never meant for that to happen. I’m just really worried about him, he’s my only sibling and-”

“Tegan calm down. I’m not going to dump you,” I cut Tegan off. I hate seeing her upset. I promised myself that I would never let a tear fall from her eyes again but here I am doing it again. She is almost crying because of me.

“You aren’t?” Tegan asked in surprise and smiled.

“Of course not,” I confirmed. “I would never do that,”

Tegan’s smile widened and she pulled me close for a hug.

“I’m so relieved to hear you say that. When you said you wanted to talk, I assumed it was to leave me,” Tegan admitted. “If you aren’t going to dump me then what else could you want to talk about us?”

“I want to tell you something first,” I said as I took Tegan’s hand in mine. Tegan declared her love for me while thinking I didn’t hear but I did. I’d hoped she’d tell me again while she knew I was awake but she hasn’t. Perhaps if I tell her, she will say it back. “I’ve wanted to tell you this since the day we met but I didn’t want to scare you away but now that we’ve been together a few months, I think you should know how I feel about you.

I thought I would never find someone to spend my life with but I did Tegan. I found you and I couldn’t be happier. I love you,”

Tegan’s eyes went wide in shock for a second before she smiled.

“I love you too,” Tegan replied with a blush and we both gazed into each other’s eyes with love. I knew it was a good idea to tell her how I felt.

I leaned down to get my lips level with Tegan’s and I was about to go in for a kiss but I didn’t get to because we heard someone take a seat beside us and clear their throat. I looked to my left to see it was Diago and groaned.

“This is cosy,” Diago commented with a smirk. Damn him!

“Diago how many times have I told you not to just come in? Use the damn door,” I said angrily.

“Sorry man but this is an emergency. I had to come over and see if you really were calm before you did something you would regret. I’m not some murderous Demon that’s here to kill you and your gorgeous wife while you are distracted with each other,” Diago said cockily. Man I hate him, I have no idea why we’re still friends. Wait, it’s because he helped me but that doesn’t mean he can act like this.

“Did you just call my wife gorgeous?”

“Yes, she’s fit,” Diago replied with no shame. “If she wasn’t your wife then I would totally bang her,”

Tegan gasped upon hearing that. How dare Diago say something like that? I’ll kill him. I raised my fist and was about to punch Diago in the face but a soft hand on my arm stopped me, it was Tegan. She stood up from the couch to get to the other side of me to be between Diago and I to block me from Diago.

“Diago stop provoking my husband,” Tegan told Diago in a warning tone.

“Sorry,” Diago apologised. “It was only banter,” Only banter? I want to punch him.

“I’m not sure this was the time for that Diago,”

“Exactly,” I agreed. “Now leave before I kill you,”

“I wasn’t planning on staying anyway,” Diago huffed after hearing my warning and without another word he disappeared leaving me alone with my wife at last. The nerve of some people. Diago ruined the moment with my wife, I can’t kiss her now.

“I’m starving,” I commented.

“I am too, let’s eat,” Tegan led me to the kitchen with her hand in mine. Tegan was about to go to the refrigerator but I stopped her.

“Let me,” I said.

“Ok then,” Tegan took a seat and while I cooked dinner.

An hour later, I placed the food at the dining table and we sat down to eat. The meal was a pasta bake, potatoes and green beans. I had many glasses of blood too because I was craving it. Tegan on the other hand, had only one glass full.

“You’re a great cook,” Tegan complimented me once we were finished eating.

“Thank you,” I said with a smile and yawned.

“It’s been a long day, we should go to bed,”

I nodded my head in agreement and put my hand in Tegan’s. A second later we were upstairs thanks to my demonic abilities allowing me to transport wherever I wanted in seconds.

“Tegan?” I said.

“What is it Cole?” Tegan replied.

“I was wondering..... Now that we know each other better and made it clear we love each other........... I was thinking we could share a room but only if you are ready. I’d understand if you aren’t,” my voice drifted off nervously as I waited for Tegan’s reply but there was none.

Tegan squeezed my hand before leading me to my room without a word. I immediately made my way to the bed but Tegan headed to the adjoined bathroom.

Tegan returned to the bedroom a few minutes later. She was dressed in her pjs and had removed her makeup. She looks beautiful. I was already laying in bed in only my boxers. Tegan got into the bed and lay beside me but hadn’t realised I was almost naked.

“Goodnight,” Tegan said but she forgot something.

“Tegan?” I asked before Tegan could turn around and fall asleep.

“Hmm?” Tegan hummed.

“You forgot something,”

“What did I forget?” Tegan asked in confusion.

“You forgot to kiss me goodnight and tell me you love me,”

Tegan's eyes went wide and she blushed red before asking “You weren’t asleep the other night were you?”

I didn’t answer. My silence confirmed everything.

Tegan gave a sigh before saying

“I love you,”

Tegan leaned over to kiss my cheek but before she could, I joined our lips together and stole a kiss leaving Tegan in shock. I pulled away and gave her another kiss before saying

“I love you too,”

I put my arms around Tegan before closing my eyes.
