Tegan’s pov
A second later, I was stood in a huge living room where there were two large black sofas in the middle of the room and a table with a bowl full of fruit on top. There was also a TV screen hung on a wall. I glanced at Cole who was leaning against the wall opposite while his black eyes gazed into my hazel brown ones.
“Can you show me around?” I asked.
“I’ll do it,” an unfamiliar voice said and we both turned around. Standing there with a smirk on his face was a guy. He was tall and lean but not as tall as Cole. His hair was black and so were his eyes so he was obviously a Demon. His attire was all black too with jeans, sleeveless shirt and shoes.
“What the hell are you doing here?” Cole demanded the stranger angrily.
“Is that a way to treat your best friend when he drops by to see you?” the other Demon replied. I must say he is quite handsome but not a patch on my new husband obviously.
“You still haven’t answered my question,” Cole ignored his friend.
“Is it a crime to visit my friend?”
Cole didn’t answer and his friend’s eye turned to me.
“Hello there gorgeous, you must be Cole’s wife.
Man you work fast, you just told me the other day you were looking for a wife,” Diago grinned while he turned to look at his friend who didn’t answer.
“Anyway, I’m Diago,” Cole’s friend introduced himself.
“Hello, I’m Tegan,” I replied as Diago took my hand to shake but then he saw the angry scowl on Cole’s face and apologised with a
“Sorry Cole. I know she’s your wife, I’ll keep my distance,”
Diago let go of my hand and took a step away from me.
“I’d better give you that tour I promised,” Diago told me.
“What?” Diago asked when he saw the glare on Cole’s face, it was kind of hot. “It’s the only way I will get to know your wife. You don’t want me to hate her do you?”
“Fine, you can show Tegan around but you’d better be back in here with her in 10 minutes or I will kill you,” Cole agreed with a threat.
“As you wish,” Diago agreed to Cole’s terms. “Follow me Tegan,”
Diago headed towards a door on the right and I followed him. He opened the door and we headed inside.
“That’s the TV,” Diago told me proudly as my attention went to a white wardrobe at the back of the room. Huh? I thought in confusion. Why is he showing me a wardrobe while talking about the T.V? “I know what you’re thinking, watch this,”
Diago picked up a remote control and pressed the power button. Within a second, the white wardrobe’s doors opened instantly to reveal the biggest TV screen I had ever seen, it was like the ones in a cinema but smaller.
“Wow! That’s huge,” I exclaimed in awe.
“I know, cool huh?” Diago asked.
“Yes it is,” I agreed before we left the room and saw the remainder of the first floor. It was all amazing, the rooms were very spacious and modern in design. The dining room contained a large 4 seater table, a few sofas and a few wall hangings such as a clock. Everything in the kitchen was huge especially the fridge. I couldn’t help but open it to see it was full to the brim with a variety of food like eggs, milk, meat, fruit and veg, drinks, cartons of blood and much more. We skipped the garden for another time as it began to rain. I hate the rain. ”You going to show me upstairs?”
“Of course,” Diago replied before we headed back to the living room where Cole was sitting on the couch, our eyes met while Diago grabbed my suitcase and gym bag. Cole really is something to look at, I can’t believe he is my husband now. My eyes reluctantly left Cole’s before we went up the stairs. Each room we went through was huge, this must be a mansion but it can’t be as there are only 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, dining room and another room. I wonder what Cole does for a living to afford such a nice house. I was about to ask but got distracted once we came up to one room that had a piece of paper stuck to it saying ‘Don’t enter’.
“What’s in there?” I asked curiously as I eyed the notice.
“Cole won’t let anyone in there, it’s always locked,” Diago explained with his attention diverted in the distance as if he was remembering something. I will have to try and get into that room some time as I’m curious to know what’s in there.
“This place is like a mansion. Is Cole rich?”
“Yes he is and now, so are you,”
“Wow! What does he do?” I asked curiously.
“He owns an advice bureau,” Diago replied hesitantly, he must be lying.
“Cole’s a legal advisor?”
“Yes for supernatural beings as well as humans and he’s one of the best,” Diago told me with great pride. I felt pride enter my heart too for the husband I hardly knew. Diago and Cole must be really close if Diago is speaking so fondly of his friend.
Only a few seconds later, we reached the final bedroom which had a King sized bed in the centre. There was another door, I opened it and the inside contained men’s clothing hanging on clothes hangers and shoes on shelves, I realised it was Cole’s wardrobe meaning it was Cole’s room. There was another walk in wardrobe beside it but it was empty.
“This is Cole’s room as you probably guessed,” Soon it’ll will be my room too I blushed at the thought. Obviously Cole and I aren’t going to share a room tonight as we just married and barely know each other but at some point in the future we will. The thought is making me nervous. ”For now, I’ll take you to the guest room next door,” Diago said as he made his way out of the room and I followed. He opened a door beside Cole’s before stepping into a room similar to Cole’s except there was no walk in wardrobe’s. There was a large wooden wardrobe in the centre of the room which I went towards and opened.
Diago handed me my suitcase and gym bag. I took them without a word. I began to hang clothes up and placed my shoes at the bottom.
When I was done, there was still plenty of space left so I decided to place my other things there like personal items, accessories, hair products and beauty products among other things. After which I closed the wardrobe, placed the now empty gym bag into the empty suitcase and placed it under the bed.
We headed back downstairs where Cole was still seated but was now watching T.V. When he noticed our return, he turned the T.V off.
“You were gone longer than 10 minutes,” Cole noted with an angry glare towards Diago.
“I unpacked my stuff,” I explained and Cole’s eyes softened as they met mine.
“I’d better be off,” Diago said.
“It was nice meeting you,” I said with a smile.
“It was nice meeting you too, I’ll see you later,” Diago returned my smile. He nodded at Cole and then vanished into thin air. I wish I could do that but unfortunately Vampires aren’t blessed with any gifts like that. All we have is the ability to run 100 times faster than any human ever could and we have forever youthful looks.
“I guess it’s just you and me now Cole,” I said as my eyes met with Cole’s black ones again and he grinned.
“You like the sound of that don’t you?” I added with a knowing look and Cole’s grin grew before he replied
“Yes I believe I do,”
