✶✶✶
Kurcy had given the three some plain clothes, so they wouldn’t stand out as well as hooded cloaks. Apparently the city had already heard all about the reappearing young royals, so she warned them to be careful and stay together. Aster had looked at with disbelief, they had grown up a lower city, dodging muggers, rapists and murders was a daily occurance. Going into the city surely couldn’t be that dangerous.
They snuck through the servants entrance to the sister, easily getting passed with Kurcy’s apparent high position within the palace staff. Hearing the myriad of voices and the busy behaviour of the city folk, filling Aster with bittersweet memories, Basil and Clover squeezed her hands, both having the same thought at the sight.
“Let’s go to the square, Dealro might be selling his hot pies,” Kurcy giggled. She dragged the group through the crowds, they made it to a stand that held a large que.
“Damn,” Beau muttered, “of course he’d be busy tonight of all nights.”
Kurcy grew a determined expression, spinning to face Beau, “no, don’t worry, princess Clover and prince Basil will stay with me to get the hotpies, and hopefully a bit of hot beer. You go ahead with princess Aster and have your romantic night.”
Beau blushed, “Kurcy-”
“Just go, I'm not going to offer twice.”
Beau grinned taking hold of Asters hand, “your the best,”
“I know,” Kurcy giggled, “no go, shu shu,”
Beau pulled Aster away from a grinning Clover and Kurcy and as slightly puzzled Basil. I knew that was a can of worms she was going to have to open the next she saw them both. She had a feeling Clover would be all but heartbroken her sister hadn’t told her about her soulmate.
“So this is a date? Then what was our ride today?”
“A prelude,”
Aster raised her brows, “you don’t do much flirting do you?”
“That obvious?”
Aster smirked, “a little, but I think I'll be a good teacher.”
Beau blushed in a way that Aster thought was cute, she couldn’t why she thought any different before. In her training attire she looked deadly and sexy, but in her casual clothes, the long dyed red skirt and white tunic top, made her look homely and sweet. Her scars enhanced her beauty, making her seem mysterious and alluring.
They walked hand in hand through the crowds, the night market was in full swing, and the street entertainers had not yet retired. Aster watched amazed at a fire blower, and even more so when the fire he blew turned into a fierce dragon.
They travelled down looking at all the wears, Asters eyes landed on a instrument stand, she picked up a wooden curved flute,
“You don’t play.” Beau spoke confused at Aster,
“You don’t know that,”
Beau smiled, “you forget i see everything,”
Aster snorted, “maybe i want to learn,”
Beau stared at Aster for a moment discerning her honesty. She took out her coin purse that was strapped around her hip, bringing out two silver coins.
“You’re buying it for me?”
“Do you have money?”
“No-”
“Then take it.” Aster was hasisant, she stared down at the flute, “you’re sure?”
“Of course,” Beau smiled. After Aster accepted the flute they headed back to the hot pie stand, finding Clover and Kurcy holding five pies,
“They ran out of beer,” Kurcy said glumly, “but we managed to get the pies,”
“It’s so good, Aster,” Clover said through a mouthful of meat filled pie.
“Where's Basil?” Aster immediately noticed his presence gone,
“She went off somewhere,”
“He wandered off?”
Aster turned to crowds, her face distant, it was unlike Basil tio wonder off without reason.
“You lost the prince!” Beau panicked, “are you crazy,”
“I was busy getting hot pies,”
“Delicious hot pies,” Clover chimed in, licking her lips. Clover too was not worried about her brother, she would wonder if he did not come back, but she knew he would.
Beau frowned, “what if something happens to him?”
“He’ll be back, if he’s not back in a few hours or so, then we can worry,” Aster broke in, she placed her hand on Beaus' tense shoulder.
“Sorry,” she sighed, “it’s just losing him could cost me everything,”
“Look!” Clover pointed suddenly, her mouth yet again filled to the brim with pie. “There's dancing,”
Aster took note of the musicians beginning to set up, tuning their instruments, as well as a gathering of couples, waiting for the music to begin.
“You two have to dance,” Kurcy spoke,
“No, thank you,” Aster spoke darkly.
“Yes, you will,” Clover told her sister, “it’s a must on a date, you have to dance,”
Aster groaned, she side glanced at Beau seeing how she peered over the couples enviously.
“Beau,” she held out her hand for the other girl to take it, “care for a dance?”
Beau nodded her head wordless, Kurcy gave her a big thumbs up when Aster tugged her where the dancing was happening.
Aster took the lead, holding Beau by the waist. The music began and soon they were stepping along to the rhythm of the song.
They were close as they danced, feeling each other's breaths mingling with one another's, the warmth of Aster's hands on Beaus' hips burned her skin a pleasant tingle.Aster spun the girl around, then pulled her even closer to her, “i have a feeling you do this alot,” Beau murmured breathlessly.
“But i’m not doing this to seduce you to bed,”
“You're not?”
“No, I'm romancing you,” Aster chuckled, “is it going well?”
“It could use some work,”
Aster rolled her eyes, “a girl hard to impress, that's a new one for me.”
Ebay bit her lips, she looked down at Aster, and before she knew what she was doing, she planted her lips on hers. It was a simple peck at first, but Aster pulled her back for more, deepening the act, as her lips roamed along hers, her tongue glazed along Beau's lower lip, urging for her mouth to open. As soon as Beau's mouth gaped a sliver of an inch, Aster's tongue darted in. it was passionate, Beau had never been kissed before, it filled her belly with flutters, and made her heart speed up, she followed in return with her own tongue.
“Alright you two, get a room!” someone shouted, Beau pulled back, embarrassed, and flustered. Aster didn’t look as if she much cared, but she held Beau tenderly.
“I think i was a fucking idoit for avoiding this for so long. That felt as if everything missing i was looking for was right there, that it was the kiss that i was waiting for. And I found it.” Aster groaned, her head rolling back, “bloody hell, i’m a bitch, i deprived myself of this,” she said more to herself.
The two shared a smile, no words needing to be said after that, they headed back to Clover and Kurcy, sitting down by the fountain, eating pie. It was an hour later that Basil eventually arrived, he didn’t say anything, only looked over at his sisters and nodded, happy that they were fine. They left soon after, sneaking back into the palace.
That night all Aster dreamt of was Beaus' lips. By the goddess if she didn’t stop herself she would turn into, well like Clover
