It is the morning of October 1st, and we all gather around Sparky’s bed with party hats on and party poppers in hand.  

At the count of three we set off the party poppers and shout, “HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY SPARKY!” 

Sparky jolts awake with a smile and gives Kiyoshi a big hug. 

“I made your favorite breakfast food!” Kiyoshi smiles. 

“You’re a saint! Thank you so much!” Sparky smiles as Kiyoshi puts a party hat on him. 

Sparky sits at the table with a plate of eggs, sausage, and strawberry pancakes sits in front of him. He holds a knife and fork in each hand and smiles for a picture as Kiyoshi snaps several shots. After we all finish breakfast, we all got ready and headed into town by bus. The bus lets us off at the same shopping mall as before. Tallius and Kiyoshi walk in the direction of the movie theater, and we all look at the movie posters.  

Sparky stops and tugs on my sleeve, “Can we see that new horror film?” 

“Sure! Allow me to pay for your ticket as I didn’t have time to get you a present, I hope you’re not disappointed...” I explain. 

“Eh? Why would I be disappointed? Thank you!” Sparky smiles. 

After the movie we walks over to a nearby park and discussed the movie. It was really interesting and full of action. Kiyoshi didn’t seem too thrilled as he gripped my arm the whole time, I thought it may break at some point. 

“This is so much fun! I will remember this birthday forever! I think Talli and I used to go to this park as kids, it seems familiar.” Sparky smiles. 

“Maybe... I don’t remember.” Tallius sighs. 

After walking around town, a bit and looking around in stores we stopped for pizza and slushies, some of Sparky’s favorites foods. Before we knew it, it was sundown already. So, we headed to Tallius’ house for the night. This is my first sleepover... well second, I guess. Though a sleepover isn’t so special since we are dorm mates and sleep together all the time. In small, crowded neighborhood not far from the subway station we arrive at Tallius’ house. It is average size, definitely not the size I thought it would be given the amount of family members. 

“Present time! I’ll go get it!” Kiyoshi shouts. 

“Uwah! Really?! You guys didn’t have to get me anything!” Sparky exclaims. 

Kiyoshi plops the big present box down in Sparky’s lap and he quickly tears into it. He inspects each item with a smile, “You guys know me so well! This is exactly what I wanted! I will use the supplies well and wear the shoes every day!” 

He thanks them and gives them both a big hug. 

“I have to make a phone; I’ll be right back.” Kiyoshi explains as he walks out of the room. 

“Alright, can we play a short round without you?” Sparky asks turning on the game system. 

“Yeah, go ahead!” Kiyoshi shouts from outside the room. 

Not long and the front door handle jiggles. 

“Oh, someone is here, I’ll get the door.” Kiyoshi rushes to the door opening it, “Talli! Hima, Ruck, Yuko, and Hesson are home. Oran these are Tallius’ brothers. Brothers, this is Oran, our new friend.” 

“Nice to meet you.” I smile warmly. 

They are all good-looking guys... it must run in the family. They share some similarities with Tallius but also look quite different. Hima and Ruck are taller than Tallius and look a bit older. While Yuko and Hesson must be his younger brothers. Hima has dark brown hair and friendly face. Ruck looks similar to Tallius with black hair and a stern look. Yuko has pink highlights in his long hair that is tied up in a bun at the back of his head, he is young but not too much younger than us. Hesson appears to be the youngest, he has long black hair that is tied in a ponytail, his face is soft but also stern.  

“Nice to meet you too, welcome to my home. Tallius... Kiyoshi... Can you help me with something really quick?” Hima asks.  

His home... So, this is Hima’s house. I guess the rest of the family lives elsewhere. Tallius and Kiyoshi follow his order and meet him in a separate room. 

“Ruck, Yuko, Hess, you are dismissed.” Hima orders. 

“Uh-oh...” Kiyoshi sighs. 

“What do you think you’re doing bringing another human into my house? You know it is dangerous.” Hima whispers. 

“Don’t worry he’s not...! He doesn’t have a clue! He’s clueless!” Kiyoshi smiles. 

“The more clueless ones are tastier.” Yuko licks his lips. 

“Stop that Yuko, the boy isn’t food he is their friend. He isn’t food, right?” Hima questions. 

“No way. Don’t talk about him like that... it’s weird... I don’t even feed like that” Tallius shivers. 

~Feeding as in feeding off of sexual energy of humans~ 

“Good, you know my rules. No feeding in my house. Now we will all go to our rooms and stay... Right boys? I know you are hiding in the stairwell.  

Ruck and Hesson peep their heads from around the corner. Ruck, Hesson, and Yuko all agree in unison “Yes.”
