It clamped onto my leg sucking me in, “Fuck!” I exclaimed. “Fuck, get off!” I heard Margaret laughing slightly, which pissed me off even more. “Dammit!” The earth started to rumble and shake, Shit, not what I meant to happen. Calm down, it’s okay. What can I use here. I thought of the anger I felt when Andrea was getting attacked and focused the energy onto my foot. The monster's head burst into flames as it fell over. I dropped to the ground, letting out a relieved breath, “Hoh, wasn’t expecting that to work.” I laughed.
“Dammit! Take it seriously!” she ordered. She hurled 4 balls of light at me, I thought of the sky above the ring and teleported there. I fell to the ground, falling onto my ankle. I heard it crack as I landed.
“Agh! Ow! That wasn’t pleasant.” I yelled in pain, “Alright you wanna get serious?” I asked, and she nodded, “Let’s get serious.”
“You can do it Concord!” Vera exclaimed, obviously she didn’t see that I broke my foot. I stood on my broken ankle and ran over to her very fast. “Witch’s learn from a young age long range combat,” I began, swerving behind her and tearing off my tie. I tied it around her head, covering her eyes, “Not many learn close range.” I jumped up and kicked off her back as she flew forward.
“Ugh, this is cheating!” she exclaimed.
“Nothing in the rules about doing that.” I said smugly.
“Yeah! Nice one Concord!” Bell cheered. She undid the tie and threw another ball of light at me. I crossed and raised my arms in defense, everyone gasped as layers of water covered my arms and stopped the ball of light from hitting me.
“Huh, learn something new everyday.”
She growled, “You-you stupid. I bet your parents sent you here because they just didn’t like you!” she yelled angrily. Trash talking was encouraged in these matches apparently.
Rage engulfed my adrenaline filled brain and I ran over to her, prepared to punch her in the gut. As soon as I was close enough, I hit her in the stomach, whispering into her ear, “What do you know?” I growled. She flew back coughing slightly. I summoned a staff to fight with, as soon as she was up again, I jabbed the end of the stick into the back of her neck.
“This has to be cheating! You’re not even using magic!” she whined, standing up once more.
“Well there’s no rule saying I had to, I’m just playing to my strengths.” I explained smugly. She scoffed, she summoned some kind of animal to attack me. It looked like some kind of big gobin. “Uh, hello.” I greeted awkwardly. It rushed over to me, I slid under its legs. Take out the source, take out the monster thing. I thought. It rammed me in the back, “Ack!” I flew forward, falling on my face. I flipped over and pushed myself up off my hands. Alright, face to face it is.
I rushed over to it, “How did she survive that?” I heard someone ask a question.
Survive what? It hurt but it’s not like I broke my back. I thought. Wait, that’s a goblin. “You summoned a goblin for this?! Are you crazy, do you know how rarely these things actually listen to their summoners?!” I yelled at her. I remember how to kill it, all I had to do was break the stone on the top of the dude's forehead. I felt the hairs on the back of my head stand so I turned around to find another ball of light coming towards me, the golem was also running at me. I can’t jump high enough for this plan. But I might be able too…, yeah that’ll work. I thought. I focused on being in the air, closing my eyes. I heard what sounded like a cracking noise, the ground broke so that I was being lifted in the air on a stone panel. The light sphere hit the golem in the face, he tumbled backwards before poofing into thin air. I dropped to the floor slowly, before facing the girl once more. I picked up the stone, it was cracked. “Are-are you insane?! This could have literally killed me!” I yelled at her, stomping over. “No way is this legal!” I looked to the principal.
“It didn’t kill you, so it’s fine.” she shrugged.
I growled and glared at her. Air swirled around me and I zoomed over to her, the air lifting me up and making me faster. She looked quite fearful, as I ran at her. She tried to throw light balls at me but I swerved and doged. As soon as I was in range, I rammed her in the stomach with my arm. She flew backwards, falling to the floor. She flipped and rolled out of the safe area. I dropped to my feet and stood unevenly, “The winner is Concord Lance.” Ms. Commerce exclaimed.
I let out a breath, “Cool. Imma just take a quick nap.” I tailed off, whispering in the end. I toppled over, passing out.
Two Days Later…
I woke up in a bed that was not my own. I slowly opened my eyes to see my friends asleep in chairs and couches around me, “Ugh, what time is it?” I muttered, holding my hand to my head as I sat up. “Jeez, the way these guys are sitting around me, makes it seem like I’m about to die.” I whispered with a laugh. I stood up, shuffling around the sleeping people. Andrea wasn’t there, so I went to our room. She was sleeping in my bed, I plopped down next to her. “Oi stupid, move over. I wanna sleep.” I groaned.
She blinked her eyes awake, “Ah, another dream?” she questioned lightly.
“Dream?” I mumbled.
She yanked on my wrist, pulling me down so that she was on top of me, “Wake up already. These dreams are fine, but the real you is better.” she muttered, she pushed her tongue in my mouth, kissing me for a few seconds. She pulled back and collapsed on top of me.
“Ah, whatever.” I shrugged it off, just as I did she rolled over so that I wasn’t facing her. She hugged my waist and kissed my neck as I fell asleep.
