Kishan felt like he had been walking for hours though he knew that he had probably only been walking for at most an hour, “this is a very weird dream…” He sighed before he felt the ground shake and heard a loud thundering roar. He flinched and looked around frantically in fear before spotting a large creature that seemed to take a wolf-like shape but was made up of an inky black substance and a very large amount of trash and trinkets, Kishan felt all of his instincts cry out to run so he turned around and ran away from the creature as fast as he could, he felt his legs burn at the strain walking for so long and then suddenly running caused.
“Shit shit shit!” He mumbled under his breath before he tripped over a metal pipe falling onto his stomach and getting the air knocked out of his lungs.
“C’mon get up you dumbass” He thought to himself, as he shakily got on his hands and knees he suddenly had a thought. “Wait, this is a dream right? I won’t get hurt anyways so what's the point?” He thought to himself, he suddenly heard the creature right above him before he heard a roar and felt excruciating pain from right under his neck all the way to his waist and he cried out in pain as he collapsed from the pain. “W-what the, b-but it’s just a dream s-so why does it hurt so much?” He trembled in pain. “this isn't a dream, You need to get up and run!” a voice inside his head screamed at him. He looked up confused before another monster barrelled into the one above Kishan.
Kishan took that opportunity to stumble to his feet and start running again, both monsters soon giving chase. Kishan endured the terrible pain knowing that if those beasts caught him he wouldn’t be spared and he kept running before he tripped yet again, this time tumbling to the ground falling down the trash covered hill he had been running up and he cried out in pain as his vision became blurry, and he closed his eyes tightly “I’m… really gonna die aren’t I?” He reached out for something, anything to grab onto. “I-I don’t want to die” He called out weakly. He suddenly heard the sounds of the monsters running away before he opened his eyes slowly, only to see a blurry pair of black tennis shoes in front of him. “W-what are… those?” He managed to gasp out before he closed his eyes.
Kishan was walking home from high school, bag over his shoulder and phone in his hand as the wind blew gently sending dozens and dozens of cherry blossoms through the air, he hummed softly and he was surprised when he rounded a corner and was met with a facefull of abs as another boy who seemed to be roughly the same age though much more toned wrapped his arms around Kishan’s torso to keep him from falling, “you okay?” The other boy asked before letting go of Kishan, the boy had hair as dark as the knight sky without stars and his left eye was Goldenrod while the right one was indigo. Kishan blushed bright red, embarrassed like crazy. “Y-yeah, sorry about that” Kishan scratched the back of his neck feeling very awkward. “It’s nothing, you’re too small to do much anyways” The boy spoke in a monotone voice. Kishan felt like he had been stabbed in the heart “I’m still growing!” He yelled in a defensive tone. The other boy looked at the top of Kishan’s head picking a dead cherry blossom out of his hair, “sure, see you” The boy walked away quickly, Kishan could only watch him leave before he disappeared.
“So how was your first encounter with a monster?” A voice asked before Kishan opened his eyes surprised to see himself in that strange place from his dreams, he looked over at the young boy that he had seen in his dream that morning “it’s you… Where is this?” Kishan asked the boy, confused. “who knows, it’s just a place for me and you to talk I guess” The boy said as he looked out over the horizon. “What did you mean last time, about that man?” Kishan asked, the boy sighed, obviously frustrated. “Honestly I don’t know, I tend to see the future in very small doses so there are moments when I don’t even know the things I say” The boy said. “And even if I did know I couldn’t tell you” he mumbled just loud enough for Kishan to hear him. Kishan frowned and looked over the water, “you never answered my question” The boy pointed out. “Huh?” Kishan asked as he looked at him. “My question, about the monster encounter” He clarified. “Ah… it was terrifying, that’s all I can say for sure” Kishan answered. The boy laughed “of course it was you were up against a magic beast, and a man-made one at that” The boy said. Kishan looked at the boy curiously, “that thing was man-made?” Kishan asked. The boy nodded “yep, though I can’t really tell you much else” The boy replied. “Dammit” Kishan muttered under his breath. Kishan suddenly felt a terrible pain in his back before he flinched and held onto the bridge railing tightly as he groaned in pain. “Ah I see the painkillers wore off, Don’t worry I’ll see you again someday” The boy said softly. “I-I still have questions” Kishan grit his teeth as he spoke. “Next time, don’t worry,” The boy replied.
