Three girls had opened it. Casey had jumped up from their seat, causing me to flinch at the quick movements. Robyn got up and walked over to hold her hand out to me. I took her hand, helping to pull myself up. She walked me over to Casey before she muttered something in the taller person's ear. "Don't worry, we are just here to get to know some people that are our age," said a girl with light blond hair.
"Oh, well... Hello, my name is Robyn Lee. I am 16. I'm taken. And I'm a white brit," said Robyn. "I'm Julia Evans, I am 15 years old. And I'm just European," said the girl with light blond hair. "I'm Jaxson Ann, just call me Jax. I'm 14. And an African American and European," said Jaxson. "I'm Jazmin Baker, I'm 15. And African American," said the second tallest girl of the three. Casey rolled their eyes. Robyn hit them in the side. "Fine, I'm Casey Matthews, I'm 15. And am a mixed French person," said Casey, grabbing their side. "I'm Grace Price, I'm 13 years old. And I am mixed," said the shortest girl of the three.
I stood there, quiet. I forgot to mention, I was mute and was autistic. "Oh, sorry. This is Jayden, you can call him Jay. He is 15 years old. And mixed," said Robyn, excited. "Why doesn't he talk?" Jazmin asked, with a smirk. "Jaz, no," said Julia. "I can speak, I just don't talk", I signed. Grace walked up closer to me. "He said, that he can speak, he just doesn't talk," Grace said.
"But he-" Jazmin started. "He speaks in sign," Grace said, cut Jazmin off. "Can you actually talk, but you're scared?" Grace signed. I nodded. "They can come back and hurt me, just like they hurt my dad," I signed in response. Grace nodded an "okay." Casey had grabbed my shoulder as the bus had halted. "Well, I guess it's time to part," said Julia.
Julia waved goodbye as she and Jazmin walked out. Grace let out a whine and waved bye before following after the others. "That was weird," said Casey. I shrugged it off before grabbing my bookbag and walking off.
Outside of the bus was the other teenagers between the age 13 to 17. Casey walked out after me. "Damn, you walk fast," said Casey, almost out of breath. There were only 7 compartments on the bus, but they each were 10 feet long and 5 feet thick. Jax stood in the far back. Robyn walked out with someone who I couldn't recall.
I looked forward to seeing a pale woman with red curly hair. She was dressed in a red and black jumpsuit and wearing red glasses. Casey stepped in front of me. Their gray eyes stared through my orange-ish-colored eyes. As if they were looking for something in them. "Kiss, goddamnit," Robyn shouted. Casey and I looked over at her. Casey flipped her off and turned to face the woman. Casey crossed their arms around their chest.
I wrapped my arms around them, placing my head on top of theirs. Casey uncrossed their arms before grabbing my closed fists.
The woman, in a loud voice, did the attendances. Shortly after, she introduces herself as Miss Annie, the leader of the red group. Miss Annie walked us to a beaten-down school that look like a school from the 1950s, just like Miss Annie. Casey had grabbed my upper arm and pulled me into the school. About 15 feet into the room, we stopped. Casey leaned up against the left wall, and continued their stare from earlier. I returned the stare.
A few moments had passed, and someone had shoved me into Casey. I was able to catch myself with one hand next to their head, another hand next to their hip. Their cold breaths shortened. "Goddamnit," Robyn cried out. Casey's face started to turn a deep red color. My jeans got tighter.
