“Our body and mind were exhausted. Sweat evaporated all over our body, leaving behind its salts which made our skin dry as heck. Our eyes were exhausted and were asking for a good nap for like a good week’s nap in a day. We were out of our minds already. We didn’t know what was going on around us, except the fact that we had to do it right now. It all felt so surreal and unrealistic. In our minds stress ran down all over. We couldn’t think. Stress literally suppressed all of our emotions such as anxiety, sadness, confusion, and all we had in our minds was the thought that we had to do this shit no matter what. We never thought about how it happened, why it happened, and all that stuff. But, when it was finally over, when we were in the village, between our homes, where no beasts roam around, that was when we felt… relief. That was when we were back in our zones. That was when the liquids in our minds started running again. And that was when… we raised questions.”
“Jump into that well?” I confirmed from the logo of the capital letter of ‘I’ in sky blue outline and white color.
“Yes,” It replied in its robotic voice. “Jump inside this well.”
It stood just on the boundary of the well, and I turned my narrowed eyes down at the green patches of the bricks. Then, I turned my confused narrowed eyes up at him. “But… why?”
“As I said, you’ve passed the tutorial. You’re a good fit to get ‘isekai’d’.”
I looked at that logo speechless for a few seconds in silence, and then said, “W-Wha…”
“We were just testing if you were a fit for the prophecy or not. Since you’ve won this thing, I’d like you to use your power and potential for the good of some good people in the rotten kingdom of Dansamia.”
“D-Dansamia…?” Haruto was a little confused as he looked at the logo in front of us.
“You’d get the rest of the details later. Once you’re there, I’d send my own men to pick you up, give you shelter, and teach you what’s going on. There, you’ll—”
“Stop it with your dramatic shit, will ya?” I rudely said.
“And before we do anything else, we need answers.”
“Yeah, answers. Answer us. What’s going on? Why the heck are we here? How the heck were these beasts here, destroying the whole city? What’s going on in here?”
The silent logo stood there in front of us silently, looking at us with its invisible eyes. After a second’s silence, it spoke out, “Yeah, I know there’s a shit lot of questions in your head right now. You’re confused, scared, and don’t really know what’s going on. But, just hear this: we were just testing you right now.”
“That’s not what you say a tutorial, first of all,” I spoke up confidently. “And, why the heck are we being tested?”
“The answer’s simple: we needed help, and we need people fit for helping us. So we’re testing them if they can help us or not. We saw potential in you, and that’s why you got that game, and I guess we were correct.”
“What now?”
“Once you jump inside this well, you’ll get teleported to Dansamia, as I said.”
“And what about the destruction here?” Haruto quickly asked.
“The destruction will be reversed, and the city will be as it was working. Your memories might vanish from other people’s minds. It’d be like you never existed, but we can’t really fix everything, since we’re normal beings too.”
I frowned, “So it was all a complete waste?!”
“Huh?” Haruto turned his head right at me.
I turned my head leftward and replied, “Even if we lost, technically this guy would have erased all the destruction, and rewind back time, like the attack never happened.”
“Oh, I got it…” Haruto replied.
“Yes.” We both turned at the logo again. “We would have done the exact same if you two were incompetent, but only if you were incompetent.”
“But—”
“Just hop in, fellas,” He said. “We got a lot other tasks than babysit you two. Hop inside that well, and get teleported.”
“What if we don’t?” I asked.
“Then I’d release the beasts to fuck you two up.”
“We’re entering,” Haruto replied. “But not the beast again. They’re scary.”
I then step towards the well, and then tilt my head inside while tilting my back frontward. I look inside the dry narrow well, which was all dark from inside. “It’s… pitch black.” I turned my head backward at Haruto. “What’re we gonna do?”
Haruto stepped frontward too and tilted his head downward, looking inside the same dark well. He looked inside it for a few seconds and observed it, and then turned his head left onto me. “Yeah, it’s scary. Do we really need to jump?”
