As they walked around to the front yard, there was commotion. People shouting and arguing about something. Not wanting to be seen, they went back to the backyard and hopped the fence. Which led into someone else’s backyard and unfortunately they had a dog. The dog started barking and Character A freaked out. Running around as the dog chased them, causing more commotion to happen. People from the houses around started to get annoyed at the barking, seeing as whoever owned the dog was not at home. So there was more shouting from the neighbors houses, getting mad at the dog.
Quickly finding an opening between the gate and the dog, A bolted for it. Jumping over the gate, they continued to run down the street away from the dog. They stopped at the corner before looking back over their shoulder to find that the dog did not make it over the gate.
Calming down, A reorientated themselves, figuring out where they were located. A couldn’t figure out where the convenient store was located from their spot. So just winging it they walked down the road and started looking for it. It took a while but up half a block the store was right there.
There were some teenage boys standing outside smoking, the regular ditching school and acting cool. A few pedestrians walked by and some went inside. All of them did not want to interact with the teenagers, so they avoided the teenage boys like the plague.
Character A walked straight to the store, ignoring everyone around them. Opening the door with the little chim sound.
“Hello, welcome.” The cash register person said(I forgot what it’s called… I think there’s a word for that term)
A glanced around, before walking deeper into the store and looking for the book section. The book section was in the back of the store, but there were a lot of books, a variety of them. Scanning through the books, A found the newspaper section. Glad they still had some newspapers. Picking them up, they read through the paper really quickly gathering as much information about the town as possible.
There wasn’t much on the town nor stuff going on in the town. There was a page on the pack near them. Saying that the people of the town were not to go near the pack as instructed, if anyone wanted to go hiking in that area then the pack was to be informed. So there were no misunderstandings going on.
There could have still been one, A agreed. There still could have been a misunderstanding at some point.
Ripping out that part of the newspaper, A stuffed it into the pants pocket and walked out of the store. But got distracted by a bouquet of flowers, finding the flowers pretty. The flowers were tulips, nevertheless still very pretty.
Character A had a knack for knowing different types of flowers but never understood where the knowledge came from.
They figured now that pink peonies were their favorite ones.
Walking back out of the convenient store, the group of teenage boys were harassing a girl. Catcalling her, whistling at her, coming close to her, trying to touch her. It irritated A, they hand twitched as they wanted to sock each and every boy in the jaw. Although A wished killing someone was legal.
Luckily the girl whacked the boy who approached her, square in the face. Having him stumble backwards into his friends.
“You bitch!” The boy spat.
“What?! Didn’t expect a girl to hit so hard?” The girl mocked, “Try talking to me or touching me again and see what happens.”
One of the other boys tried putting her in her place. Telling the girl to relax, calm down, it was only a joke and the guy did the stupid thing of saying that it wasn’t ladylike of her. She also punched him in the jaw. Everyone around stopped what they were doing to watch what was happening.
“Don’t tell me how to act. I don’t care if it’s not ladylike.” The girl scolded, “If you get to catcall me and try to touch me without my consent then I will punch you. It’s only fair.”
“How is that fair?” One of the boys argued.
“You’re right! I should have kicked you two in the balls. That way there can’t be any more of you walking around!” The girl shouted back.
With that she walked off, leaving all the guys around dumbfounded. None of the other witnesses said anything, only whispered to themselves before sending disgusting looks towards the group of guys.
Character A was surprised by what happened but also amazed by the girl’s form. It was perfect, the way she executed both punches. A walked down the road, the way the girl went. Passing by the group of guys and smirked at their stupidity.
A continued to follow the girl wanting to ask her questions about the newspaper. They caught up with her and handed her the newspaper. The girl didn’t question anything about Character A, especially the fact that they didn’t even utter a word.
“If you want to learn more about this then you can either go to the pub or to the library, your pick.” The girl informed.
A looked down at the paper then back up at the girl.
“The pub is closer than the library but I don’t know how reliable it is.”
A nodded, and the girl gave them directions to the pub.
Following her directions, they found the pub. Hearing faint music from the inside and a few muffled voices, A walked in.
There weren’t that many people inside. A bartender, a waitress, a couple of people at the bar and two booths of people. Everyone took their time looking over at A while they walked up to the bar counter. Taking a seat at the bar, Character A took out the scrap of paper and placed it on the counter.
The bartender picked up the paper and read over it. Looking between A, the paper and then someone else in the pub and then back at A.
The bartender nodded their head into the direction of two people sitting at a booth, handing the newspaper bit back to A.
They left the bar counter and walked over to the two people sitting at the booth. Sliding into the seat, Character A did the same thing and placed the newspaper scrap on the table. One of the guys at the table picked up the piece and read over it. Handing it to the other guy at the table.
“You wanna know about the pack?” The first guy questioned.
A nodded their head. They already knew about the pack but wanted to know about the relationship between this town and that pack.
“We can tell you about it.” The second guy said, giving the paper back to A. “Although it’s not an easy business. Ya might want something.”
The second guy pulled out a gun, and shoved it towards A. A stared at the gun, disgusted before shoving back to the gunman.
“Alright, your funeral.” The Gunman stated.
“We got more information on them back at my house” The first guy said, “It’s better if you see it anyways.”
The three of them stood up and walked out of the pub together. Before they actually got out of the pub the other people at the other booth shouted at them.
“You really gonna show off your nook.”
“Yea wrapping in one girl wasn’t enough for ya.”
There was laughter after the comment.
“He isn’t a girl.” The first guy argued, “And I don't think they are either. Right?”
A shook their head no and when he asked if they were a boy, they shook their head again.
“See no girls.”
“She is a girl if I’ve ever seen one.” One of the people stated, pointing at Gunman.
“Yeah. Cutting your hair short, and wearing guy clothes doesn't change the fact that in your pants is a pussy.”
It struck Character A that Gunman is transgender. They looked over at Gunman to see rage in his eyes, but A could tell he didn’t want to start trouble.
“He is not a girl!” The first guy defended, “Doesn’t matter what you have in your pants. But we all know you're a dick.”
“At least I ain’t some mistake! You can’t change the fact that she was born a girl. She will forever be a girl, nothing will change that.”
“Yea! Use the correct bathroom next time too! Yours is the one with the little girl on it.” One of the guys mocked.
“If you're just going to go through all this bullshit to be someone you aren’t then maybe you shouldn’t be here at all.”
With that last comment Character A leaped at the person, punching them in the face.
