I have been drafting this trilogy since 2019. Bear with me…
White Over Red is an abstract painting by Mark Rothko (1903-1970) in 1957. You may interpret the painting in whichever way as you’d like. As for me, I choose this painting as the very title for this story because this story will revolve around the theme of obsession. I’d like to think of White as sanity while Red as the source of madness. Red would like to consume the world of White but White still exist on top of Red as clear as it can be. Obsession can cause madness yet it may also help us to gain some form of sanity and clarity. Hence, my interpretation of White Over Red will be released in this trilogy: Story 1 (White over Red – Flaming Dawn), Story 2 (White over Red – Drunken Sun), and Story 3 (White over Red – Silver Night). These stories will take place in fictional towns and cities under existing country such as Russia, Japan, and Germany but I will call them as New Russia, New Japan and New Germany since I alter government’s structures and regulations in these stories. Easier said, they are fictional in nature. These stories are also mostly set in the year of 2023 or 2024. A third fictional gender called ‘strain’ will also be introduced in these stories. I will add more information as I go along with my writing. Hope everyone will enjoy reading this trilogy. -K (2021-12-02)
