Chocolate candy and silly cartoons
Wrestling in the afternoon
Listening to his favorite tunes
They would be such simple memories
If he didn't do that to you
Does he even remember these things
Or were you simply a forgettable toy
Oh, sweet little child
Locked in the toy box
You would do anything for the love
You lacked from your mother
You didn't know what he was doing
You didn't know it was wrong
You thought it was all just a game
And to him, it probably was
Does he remember, I wonder
The laughter you both shared
Giving that character hot pink hair
Or does he only remember
His favorite game
Oh, sweet little child
Locked in the toy box
You can't help but wonder
What you did wrong
"Was it something I said?"
"Was it something I did?"
"I should make sure to only make him happy."
"Maybe if he's happy, this won't happen again."
But it did.
Again, and again, and again.
It took years for you to understand
That you did nothing wrong.
But it's too late.
You've been trained like a puppy.
When was the last time
You didn't smile?
When was the last time
You said what you thought?
When was the last time
You did what you want?
Oh, sweet little child
Locked in the toy box
You haven't been there in years
But it seems you'll never escape
